thanks for the responses, I like the idea of a sort of dance off, but not the idea of the judges choosing the one who goes. It would seem 'less' of a peoples choice show and more of a 'what the judges want' show. that simply changes the dynamic of the entire show and the voting process (I think).

You don't necessarily have to have a comprehension of the cultural significance of the Brady Bunch to know that it was plain and simpy poorly chosen music for a tango... I'm sure many on this side of the Atlantic (or Pacific) would agree. The cultural significance is 'her' herself. Any American kid growing up in the late 60s and early 70s and onwards more than likely grew up watching the show and it has remained replaying on non prime time television sometime somewhere in some city each and every day in reruns. Thousands of us know all the episodes lol. It really is one of the top American kitsch phenomenoms. I think DWTS has a habit of pulling up one or two celebs who evoke a memory of the past and who have no real chance of winning (IMO). she may stay on for sentimental sake, but she wont win.
I just think this season is more gimmicky than the previous ones. We had acoustic week (which I still fail to see what was acoustic about it?) I liked the round stage however.. We had story telling week the week prior, this week was TV theme week and next week rock and roll week. uggh.
I dont mind some elaboration and I agree they cannot always stay in the past and not change a thing, but one can tell this season is just a bit over the top. Maybe as it's popularity grows, the producers feel a need to 'energize' it to some odd extreme.
anyway, sorry for going off topic.
