Dozens of ultra conservative web sites are spreading this information to ensure a Palin win next week. The call it Operation Bristol.
Some of the sites are paid for by... Mommy Palin's clique.
Like for instance: http://www.conservatives4palin.com

The ultra conservatives are using DWTS to get back at Obama. The billionaire Koch brothers, the financial backers of the tea party, are using every opportunity to raise the profile of Ma Palin as the next POTUS. Daughter Palin is the perfect instrument to achieve that.

Some people are planning a counter attack.

And here I was, thinking DWTS was just a bit of harmless fun.

Spoiler
God, what is the point of that? It's a silly dance contest at the end of the day. Sarah has already raised her profile through Bristol. If Bristol wins, then people will just resent her and the impact will be lost.

As for Bristol winning - although obviously she is nowhere near as bad as Ann Widdecombe in Strictly, I do think it takes something away from the credibility of these shows if a poor/weak dancer wins over someone who works hard and shows talent.
”

Spoiler
Yes, Bristol was 4th. I don't think it's a coincidence that she has been saved so many times. It was a high scoring week, and I felt that Bristol was overmarked a bit. To be fair to her, she has improved a lot.

Kelly was more endearing as an underdog and she was a better dancer. She only came third in her year. I didn't believe the conspiracy theories at first, but now I do. I don't think Bristol has that much charm.

If Donny could win last year by snogging a judge and acting like a hyperactive puppy I'm not sure why Bristol can;t win this year. It won't finish the show off by any means...she's actually become a very accomplished dancer (at least on a par with the puppy of the year Kyle).

The Americans are no different to the British in liking an underdog and going for the celebrity who has had a journey. While the political sphere may be looking to build up votes, I don't think that's the bee all and end all. Maybe, just maybe, people like her for her dancing.

Donny was much better than Bristol is. He also had a ready-made fanbase.

Kyle's technique is pretty poor, but at least his performance level is good. Bristol is still very mediocre and in all respects. I think she's quite endearing in a vulnerable way, but she doesn't exactly have much charisma.

All of the pros get hate on twitter and elsewhere. Interestingly, a lot of the hate Derek gets is from the most devout Mark fans. He has gotten hate from Mark fans that are angry he looked surprised when Brandy was eliminated. Of course all the others, including Mark, did too, so go figure. Derek and most of the others just ignore it and it's a non-issue. Mark and Maks are among the few (at least as far as I have seen) that re-tweet and respond and call it to everyone's attention.

Spoiler
I can't think of anything more pathetic regarding these shows (dwts, strictly) than sending hate mail to the pro dancers - or the celebs for that matter. As Mark says they (pros) are employed to do a job, and it is in their own interest to do the best job they possibly can.

At the end of the day, it is much harder to take someone who has no previous dance experience, no personality and very little confidence and try and turn them in to a halfway decent dancer, who can at least now smile. Whether we (viewers) like Bristol getting through above other dancers or not, the fact remains Mark has done a pretty good job.

Spoiler
Mark's last twitter was that he was leaving for a while and coming back later. He is just doing his job and the public fails to understand it. I noticed that he has been extremely protective and affectionate with Bristol in face of all of this and to me it says he is in the this for better or worse and doing his job well.

Hopefully its a case of the judges trying to encourage fans of the other celebs, especialy Jennifers fans, to vote in greater numbers by demonstrating the Bristol could actually swing it

Spoiler

That's very interesting.

I've sometimes wondered how bulletproof the SCD voting is. SCD is entirely a phone vote, so easier to monitor.

This time tomorrow, we'll know the result.

So did I.

Kyle's was full of energy, but a bit frenetic for me.

Bristol's was underwhelming. The song choice was terrible - what was Mark thinking?

Spoiler
I suppose that Mark was trying to push Bristol extra-far in picking a number that would drive her to act. I think he succeeded, from viewing the video. It looks like one of her better performances.

But, as the judges pointed out, when one is dancing to such a famous number that was used originally by one of the great choreographers, and has been re-used by great dancers all over the world, a judge will have images of previous professional dances in their minds.

Even though Bristol looks like she did put out quite a bit for herself (given her very limited performance range), she still fell quite a ways behind the other two.
