Do we know if this is on UKTV Gold this year?
Quote:
I've heard it will be shown on UKTV's new channel "Watch" whenever that starts up - I believe quite soon.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/jul/10/television1 According to that report, Watch was originally scheduled to start on October 7. That article also includes a suggestion (denied by the BBC) that the Channel would be "female skewed", so it might well be a platform for DWTS, and similar shows. And more about Watch, on the UKTV site itself, here (though no actual mention of DWTS): http://uktv.co.uk/uktv/item/aid/603804 |

![]() Yep, my Tivo has picked up 3 shows that night, maybe the first is some sort of preview show. Makes our Friday night to have this back on plus means we record the Sat show (uk version) and watch immediatley before the Sunday result show.Raven |

Here's a schedule page on the UKTV Gold website:
http://uktv.co.uk/gold/episode/listi...hannel_id/3870 The wording seems a bit strange to me: "When is it on? Dancing with the Stars is on at 8.00pm on Friday 26th September on UKTV Gold +1. When else is it on? On at 7.00pm on Friday 26th September on UKTV Gold." We suspect too that Gold+1 will be rebranded to become UKTV Watch, from Oct 7th, so perhaps the strange wording reflects that. The 3 shows that we're going to see on the first Friday are because the program is going out in the US on Monday night and Tuesday night and Wednesday night. Apparently 13 couples will perform on Monday night, but only 12 will come back on Tuesday to perform a second routine. The Wednesday night's show will be first results show (though it might seem more sensible to have the women performing in one show, and the men in the next, and then have the results show). Anyway, we'll see the whole lot back to back. |

That is such good news. I thought we'd have to wait until they re-branded UKTV Gold to UKTV Watch on October 7th, but they're obviously going to just carry on showing it.

Yeah my Sky planner does not go more than one week in advance so thanks for that info.
I'll be setting up the Sky+, I've already programmed SCD & I'm looking out for when ITT starts, hubby is going to be moaning it's all filled with dancing cr*p . (At least I gave up XF & BB last year so he should be relieved ).

Wow Cloris Leachman is a hoot! Corgi sounds so much like Mark too (I suppose it should be visa-versa really).
Looking forward to the 26th .

As usual, you can always see lots of newspaper reports about the previous nights shows, on Google News:
http://news.google.com/news?ned=uk&h...nG=Search+News You need to beware that there may be spoilers in there (though there have been no eliminations, till tonight's show). It's still a bit early in the morning (their time), and more reports will come in during the morning. Here's a short objective summary of the Monday night's show from AP: http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5h...2MBrQD93C5V8G0 Headlines from the Monday night show seem to be general "low scores" (ie realistic, more along the Strictly model), "Leachman's reaction to her low score had to be censored." And there seems to have been an injury "comedian Jeffrey Ross, who suffered a scratched cornea after his partner Edyta Sliwinska accidentally poked him during a rehearsal" (not sure how serious that is). There's a detailed review, with comments about all the couples' dances, and a few judges' quotes here: http://uk.eonline.com/uberblog/b3041...nce_kills.html Extracts: "...Julianne Hough, a partner who, if all else fails, can keep all eyes on her with costumes such as that backless, one-sided fringed number she was sporting tonight. Well done!" (looking forward to seeing that!!!) there was some butt-kicking choreography from former So You Think You Can Dance finalist Lacey Schwimmer, Hough's main rival for resident hot young thang, [and on Lance Bass, her partner:] acing a technically complicated, hot 'n' sexy cha-cha. They should have received a 24, but Len Goodman is a fuddy-duddy." There's also a very readable, chatty and opinionated piece here: http://media.herald-dispatch.com/blo...-to-rowdy.html Samples from that: "I adore Leachman and think it’s awesome that she’s doing this show. But as Bergeron alluded to in his intro, the reason to tune in for Leachman is not her dancing, but to see what she’s going to say. And she did not disappoint. But the real action started backstage when Leachman got her scores. In fact, they had to bleep her at least three times that I heard. I almost voted for her just so we could be sure to see her tomorrow. Cody Linley couldn’t stop looking at his partner Julianne’s behind…" |

Loved Julianne, and Lacey (cool boots, and that legover move at the end!), and Brooke, and KimK. A tad more exciting than watching Austen Healey and John Sargent (IMO), and Julianne and Lacey even eclipsed Ola. And two more parts to come (Haven't watched the second show yet). A very impressive way to start a series.
If anyone wants to know more about Lacey Schwimmer's background, there's a Wikipedia entry here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lacey_Schwimmer If you put "Lacey Schwimmer" in the search box on YouTube, there are plenty of clips, from various performances. Just few examples, all worth a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stZTaRsArlo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkD3GHz4OiA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY_vwNSHlow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf5HKAqykHk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLkfdxZCZ9w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBhR2gfdOZw Also noticed that Living TV have started showing preview ads for Watch TV, starting Oct 7th. |
