Hiya everyone I am just paying too much with BT with this quarters bill at 130 pounds.

I am with sky broadband and sky TV so if I took out sky talk what would the cost be ?

I need to keep the BT line because of the sky broadband.

Do sky do there own line rental yet?

What other cheaper options are there ?

talk talk ? any others

all advice is welcome

thank you

If I took the talktalk option talk3 , would I get to keep my sky broadband ?
because they charge for the line rental ?

The MoneySavingExpert site is down at the moment but, when they've fixed their servers, you'll find everything you need in my regularly-updated post HERE.

The most important details are:

(1). Leave your 'line rental' with BT but stay on (or downgrade to) BT Together Option 1 (£10.50/month if paid by DD - after the 50p/month paper-free biling discount);

(2). Opt for Primus Saver Option 2 CPS (free evening and weekend UK 01/02 calls of up to 90 minutes for no monthly fee);

(3). Opt for the Penny Mobile 2 add-on to Primus Saver Option 2 (calls to UK mobiles capped at 20p for up to 20 minutes);

(4). Sign up for a www.18185.co.uk account to get weekday daytime (i.e. peak) calls to UK 01/02/03 numbers for 5p each regardless of duration.

BTW, Sky Talk Freetime would cost you nothing but, unlike Primus Saver Option 2, the free evening and weekend UK 01/02 calls are limited to 60 minutes. Sky Talk Unlimited would cost you £5/month and would give you inclusive UK 01/02 calls of up to 60 minutes at all times plus calls of up to 60 minutes to landines in 10 other countries as well. However, Sky's prices to call UK mobiles are beaten at all times by 18185's, even after their discounts on BT's prices.

We trialled TalkTalk in June and the fallout is still falling. Returned to BT with online billing and Direct Debit but still being sent paper bills at £4.50 a shot plus full line rental of £11 instead of £10.50 plus £7.50 late payment fee. Take your pick mate.

What exactly is the root of your problem?

Did BT (or, more likely, your bank) fail to set up the direct debit?

If you have actually sent them a correctly filled in DD form you can probably get some of that money refunded with a bit of polite whinging.
