This evening Len likened our dancers to Brussels Sprouts. Obviously I had to jump on this and start a new thread. Please give your suggestions for vegetable analogies.

Ian - a long, slender runner bean, from towards the end of the season when there's a bit of toughness.

Kenny - a Scottish 'neep, goes well with tatties.

Gethin is def a leek.

Kate a potato

Brendan is an onion. So many layers!

Dom was a radish.

Anton a coconut - his hairy chest!
mintchocchip

Matt D is a parsnip - sweet and a bit cheeky.
Balti

Len - celeriac (gnarled and knobbly - bit windy)
Bruno - aubergine (greasy if not treated properly)
Arlene - a courgette in winter (bitter and past its best)
CRH - endive (an acquired taste - but I like it!)
Chilli Dragon

Lilia is a tomato

Brendan is a turnip

This thread is hillarious.

I thought with Brendan it was already decided he was a doughnut! Ok not a vegatable but still food, sort of.

Agree that Kate is a potato.

Kates a couch potato. Well, she sits on a couch for her day job and is a potato.

Flavia = a petit pois (small but perfectly formed)
Brendan = garlic (overpowering)
Camilla = a Swede (well almost!!)

Matthew - broccolli (a portion a day is very good for you)

LOL! Why not aim for the recommended 5 portions a day!

I see Ian as more a long yellow banana, that's a bit curved.

CRH is okra, slimy or too crunchy if you don't cook it properly.

Bruno is a Sharon Fruit, a bit orange, and shiny, and always looking flushed. Probably spent too much time in hospitality in the Green Room beforehand. Actually, he should stick to orange juice instead.

Bruce is a purple sprouting broccoli, when fresh, he's firm and upright and full of goodness and charm, when past it's best, it's limp and wilting.

Len is a good old sturdy King Edward, split and baked in the oven, with a dollop of English butter and salt & pepper to taste.

Arlene is a sharp green pepper, that keeps repeating on you, when you're trying to sleep, and you wished you'd never eaten so late, and vow never to again.

Tess is a great big marrow, boiled and cut into chunks as a veg for Sunday Roast - ie. bland and wishy washy, with not much flavour at all, and a bit watery.

Brendan = Garlic (not a good choice for a romantic encounter)
Kelly = a nice pear!
John = Tomato (perfect for salsa)
Vincent = Scotch bonnet chilli (small and HOT!)
Matt = Sweetcorn (sweet & corny - obviously!)
James = an onion (makes you cry)

.....phew must stop thinking vegetables..... I'm getting in quite a stew!

oh dear

I actually think of Brendan as the tomato as he goes bright red when things don't go his way

You missed that he makes most people cry!

This thread is great!

Matthew Cutler could be celery, tall, feels sleek and if you keep the leaves on it can demonstrate his nice new hair

And I think Dom is more of a chickpea

Oh and Vincent is a little cherry tomato from the vine! Small, shiny and firm to the touch

I see Tess as a garnishing sprig of mint - it's always there but you're not sure why or what to do with it.

Kate would be a lettuce - a bit wet sometimes and firmly rooted to the ground.
Her partner Anton would have to be something a little French - haricots verts say.
Letitia - a plate of mash (a popular eastend dish).
Penny - a string bean
John - a tomato, an important ingredient for a good salsa.

Oops - just seen that Balti got there first with the Salsa

Fruits and Vegs!

Anyone can come up with how the celebs and pros (the judges and the hosts) can be described by different kinds of fruits, what would they be?

Craig: the zest of lemon - sharp and bitter!

Brendan: Kiwi, sweet when ripe but sour when it isn't!

Alesha: cherries! Because her lips look like cherries

Letitia: Mango - voluptuous in shape and 'fleshy'

Kate: Rhubab, not quite a fruit, needs a lot of boling (from Anton) to make a decent dessert, but even so still quite bland.

I feel offended on behalf of rhubarb everywhere!

Nah, Kate is a Durian fruit - yes that odorous fruit.
