Yeh thats right, all shows have shed viwers as more and more people convert to internet and multichannl tv... I also wonder whether having the show at this time of year effcts ratings...shops are mainly open late now for Xmas and there's office xmas parties etc... Whereas in Jan and Fb (when IAC 3 was) people tend to stay in more...just a thought. IMO, IAC needs to be rested for 2008, and put back on in early 2009.

Thursday night:

8pm - 6.6 million (28%)
10pm - 6.2 million (30%)

Friday night:

9pm - 4.4 million (18%)

Current series average - 6.6 million

The first series is even within a whisker of this one, averaging at 6.4 million viewers at the same stage in 2002.

What's the average audience share? I'm concerned about Friday's show. It's such a pitty the ratings are so low as this is easily the best series since series 3.

Although the ratings are down, I'm pretty certain the audience share is still the same

Whaaaat?

LOL

I deliberately missed it last night.
First time I've ever done that in the show's history.
I felt like watching 'Donnie Darko' instead.

It currently has a 29% share, which is OK for ITV1 but not good for the show.

Wow! Unbelievable ratings for I'm A Celeb!

It makes you wonder how high BB would be if it was on ITV!

Do you not remember back to the days when an episode f IAC pulled 11-12 million ?

Since series 3 it's shed half it's audience almost. Shame really. Hopefuly it can sustain last nights ratings

It's good it's gone back up. Hopefully it can stay this high. It's a shame really because I think this series is great and doesn't deserve low ratings, unlike this years BB. I think this is basically the only UK reality show that I feel hasn't had a weak series from when I started watching. They've all been consistently entertaing, although I like this one a lot more.

I'd agree of the 5 series I'v watched, I'd say this was actually the best, closely followed by IAC 3, IAC 6, IAC 4, then IAC 5.

So the ratings decline is totally unmerited. But on the plus side, a 30% audience share is consitent with the previous few years, and ratings as a whole have fallen since 2004's IAC.

Using BARB you can see the audience decline is across the board, I've picked out corrie (I realy need to find something better to do on a Sundays)

Corrie’s top ratings during IAC 3 (Feb 2004): 15.2 million,
Corrie’s lowest ratings during IAC 3: 13.5 million

Corrie’s top ratings during IAC 4 (Nov 2004): 14.7 million,
Corrie’s lowest ratings during IAC 4: 12.2 million

Corrie’s top ratings during IAC 5 (Nov 2005): 12.9 million,
Corrie’s lowest ratings during IAC 5: 11 million

Corrie’s top ratings during IAC 6 (Nov 2006): 11.3 million,
Corrie’s lowest ratings during IAC 6: 9.2 million

I love I'm a Celeb...but could never desert Spooks on a Tuesday night. Oh nonono! So the viewing figures will only be something point999,999. Sorry to let you down folks, but hey..that's life.

7.2 million & 26%, a BBC period drama beat it.

I think it's safe to say IAC is no longer a ratings block buster but as reality shows and tv programmes in general, it's sill gaining good ratings compared to most other ITV shows.

I think it'll stick around - with a few changes, I mean if ITV recommission an avergae show with average ratings like Hell's Kitchen then I'm sure IAC will be back.

But not only did it get above 30%, but it is still a hit with the younger viewers, which is what ITV is really aiming for. Period dramas usually attract the over 35, so it will be safe.

That's a vital point. I'm A Celebrity, like The X Factor, is still a massive hit with younger viewers. The X Factor is consistently beaten by Strictly Come Dancing yet always gets a massive share of the younger audience and these are the ones the advertisers go for so ITV will still be happy.
