Aldi Video sender(tevion)
Its on sale now, one of the Wrexham stores as about 100 stacked up,cost £22.
Could anyone advise. Are they any good, does the pic deteriate.I live in a stone house and my wifi broadband will not penitrate walls, I have a FTA comag in the conservatory, however use the inner house in Winter, woodburner etc, the idea is to do away with a trailing wire from the comag, and be able to change channel without going next door. The price is good. It as already been removed from the aldi website, went on sale this Sunday(2 days ago). Any remarks appreciated,I live in a remote area,(no Neighbours) Bob |

Does your WiFi work at all between the two rooms you want to use the Video Sender in? Both wireless routers and video senders use the same frequency band and probably very similar power levels.
So if you cannot establish a wireless link for your broadband it tends to imply that the video sender won't work either.Especially if your laptop or whatever you use cannot see the wireless network at all. If it gets a signal but cannot talk back to the router it might indicate that the router puts out a bit more signal than the laptop. Which might mean the video sender signal might get through. Though whether that signal is usable or not is another matter. |

I have a previous Tevion Vid Sender, bought last year for around £19.
Looks like they may have improved upon it. Yes it works quite well. If you wanted to buy all the cables and connectors that came with it, it would cost far more than that alone. One of the problems I found was trying to position the "remote sensor" correctly on the source device but it can be done and the receiving picture absolutely goes daft when a Microwave is being used in its path. Overall, good value for money. |

No Different rooms, but I think I may have the same trouble,IE three foot walls(Stoned, rubble, stone circa 1820)

Has to be worth a try. RF is a bit of a black art, just because one bit of kit doesn't work between two particular rooms does not always mean that some other bit of near identical kit won't work elsewhere.

Aldi video sender(tivion))
Bought it today, the Manager(on the tills) said if it did not work at my home thick walls, he could not guarantee it would , said bring it back for a full refund,so long as I keep the reciept, I mentioned I would have to unbox it,he replied, its occuring all the time in the store, not a problem.
So tomorrow ill let you all know, if it works, must say there is a hell of a lot of cables, and, and they appear good quality. Also on sale are chain saws 14inch electric,3 yr guarantee for the stunning price of £40, I pay that for a chain alone. Bob |

It works.Excellent piece of kit
Well put it together,a few hitches, until I put another Sony TV in the same room check cables and switches.
I must agree the quality is excellent and I agree the cables that come with the tevion would cost £30 at Currys or Maplin who prob only stock some of the cables. So for £20, I now have satellite FTA all over the house, the thick walls dont seem to have caused me the same problem I had with a netgear router WIFI, which I have given up of ever making it work, the power must be low on the transmitter router, probabley thats why AOL give them away. Thanks for the advices |

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong as I cannot get this to work at all. I'm sure I've connected it correctly. I'm trying to get my Humax PVR, currently connected to my downstairs TV, to work on the TV in my bedroom but cannot seem to make any connection. Does it make a difference that the upstairs TV already has a freeview box connected to it?

firstly are you getting a picture?
connect directly to telly, disconnect freeview box and if you get a picture we will take it from there as you may not be getting a signal |
