Cha Cha Cha.....don't know why.”

I guess partly because the men do Cha Cha in the very first week, so that rules them out. Jill Halfpenny almost got one from Arlene, but she did an accidental lift. If she'd done it on purpose she would probably have had a ten from Bruno

VW- because it is a hard dance, I think the judges may need to re think what they define as "ten standard"- I suspect when it gets down to it, some or all of Mark, Kelly, Gethin, Zoe, Ray and Colin came as close to perfection as a Strictly celeb is ever going to, so a few tens should have been seen by now.

Yes. And although I don't have Series2 I do now remember that slight liftgate. ROFL on Bruno.

Don't think it's the standard of dancing that would get a 10 for the VW....I just don't think it's a dance that ever will as it is limited to what you can do, and there's much more to get wrong step wise say in a waltz or a foxtrot.

Interesting to hear Ian on ITT saying he is the pro that has been in the bottom two the most over all the series so far, does anyone know which lady professional this applies to?

Can anyone work out what Craig's average score would be compared to the other judges?

If we average all the contestants' judges' scores over all 5 series, then, based on the scores as they stand today, this year's contestants are in the following places:

#2 - Alesha and Matthew (34.20)
#7 - Kelly and Brendan (33.20)
#13= - Penny and Ian (30.00)
#13= - Gabby and James (30.00)
#15 - Matt and Flavia (29.80)
#19 - Gethin and Camilla (28.80)
#23 - Letitia and Darren (27.40)
#24= - John and Nicole (27.00)
#29 - Dominic and Lilia (25.25)
#34 - Stephanie and Vincent (24.00)
#37 - Willie and Erin (23.50)
#42 - Kenny and Ola (22.20)
#49 - Kate and Anton (18.80)
#52 - Brian and Karen (18.00)

Obviously, those positions will change. The positions are all out of 58.

Thanks - I was gonna post the whole thing, but it's a bit long, I think... might wait 'til the series is over.

In a weird way I would have preferred Ian to leave the comp early (though not this early) rather than losing in the final for the third time.

For the female pro I'd guess at Erin or Camilla just because they have been on strictly the longest.

I don't think there is an obvious parallel- it's not just that he has been in the bottom two a lot, it's that he's there despite getting very high marks from the judges. It happened with Denise, Zoe, and Penny.
The only other celeb I can remember that happening with was Emma.

At least now I know for certain there are other people at the exact same moment with their fingers in their ears. We take turns to slightly unplug an ear to check that the joke is over.

For the unexpected 'one-liners' we use the la-la-la-la-la approach.

This series, so far.
Assuming that each judge would give 25% of the marks

Craig average = 22.49%
Arlene average = 24.57%
Len average = 26.83%
Bruno average = 26.11%

If you want judge percentages on any particular competitor, I think I have those figures.

zankoku87 - I wish there was a round of applause smiley. That is brilliant. I would have thought that the voting has got much more generous than past series, but that is much more mixed than I'd have expected.

I didnt realise Zoe was the highest scored celeb
I like her but am suprised her marks were that high considering she was there till the end.
Did she have any "bad" weeks?

Not a bad week per se, but her lowest score was 29 for her week three dance, which I believe to have been a jive.

Zoe and Ian:

35 - waltz
32 - rumba
29 - jive
36 - foxtrot
35 - samba
36 - quickstep
38 - tango
68 - chacha & AS
69 - paso & Viennese
76 - tango & samba

Zoe seemed to be that rare creature, able to do both ballroom and latin well, hence the high scores. In ballroom she spun with such speed I had the impression if she connected with a bystander, the latter would have been sent flying.

so ah it seems to me - just to set the cat amongst the pigeons - judging by the couples' average marks, and comparing this series couples with previous series' winners, it seems as if kelly and brendan are most likely to win...? as alesha's marks are too high and the boys are too low...?

Mistermind

Ian is 6 foot 3, Penny is 6 foot 1, Gabby is 5 foot 8.

It appears Zoe is 5 foot 10, evidently leaner and more muscular than Penny, and as well adapted to hotfooting through latin as gliding through ballroom.

Dance professionals could tell us if there is an accepted optimum height and age for pro dancers at the highest level. As in sport, dance legs take an awful lot of pounding.

Sometimes I think I was the only person who actually watched Mark's VW. His posture....eeek! Was worth a 7.
