This is me with Bruce. I was FF all his bits but it was too messy & I kept cutting off the first Judge & driving Hubby mad - so now he's banned me from the remote .
I watch it again on my own Sunday before the results show & get to FF anything I like then - it's very short .

Yes he has only about 37 days left if I`ve worked it out correctly

Another thought....I would love to show the judges the 'Top 10 couples (by average score)' chart posted earlier.

Would prompt interesting questions eg 'Would you rank Emma above Jill?' I'd be surprised if they answered 'yes'.

I wouldn`t be surprised.

The scores don`t take in the fact that some dances have definitely been over marked

On one of the many (so, so many) 'Keep Voting for Kate' threads a poster said they were obviously the most popular with the public every week and I thought well, that's not necessarily true is it? Since the results are announced 'in no particular order' someone as maths deficient as myself could only make a stab at figuring out where the bottom 2 contestants ranked with the public voters. Now, I know some of you lot will find this a doddle - if Kate comes bottom of the judges leader board ie 1 point how high does she have to be with the public to escape the bottom 2?

I think it depends slightly on who IS in the bottom two.

e.g. Matt di Angelo had 5 points from the judges on Saturday, and ended up in the bottom two whereas Kate didn't.

Public vote trumps judges vote so, assuming Matt got one point from the public, with a total of 6, Kate would have had to have at least 5 points - ie 4th - (total of 6, public trump card) to have escaped the bottom two.

With this many contestants still left that is the best *I* can do - you need to factor in that Kenny also escaped the bottom two.

But I don't think it "proves" that she is most popular just yet.

I think Kate and Kenny must be fairly consistently in the top four - I think the Penny v Gabby night they must have been the top 2, but not necessarily any other night. Of course they are not necessarily the most popular. What they undoubtedly are is the 2 who need the votes most. You have to be perceived as needing the votes to get people to pick up the phone in these shows. If you were to ask everyone who they wanted to win, doesn't mean Kate would win that poll.

It's a very Kate-centred board today, or is that just me? Probably means she's save as houses tomorrow.

You are absolutely right, it doesn't prove that she is the most popular (and I'd be surprised if she was).

Here's the breakdown of where she would have had to have come in the public vote each week...

Week 2: 5th most popular of higher (Stephanie goes)
Week 3: 6th most popular or higher (Willie goes)
Week 4: 4th most popular or higher (Gabby goes)
Week 5: 8th most popular or higher (Dominic goes)
Week 6: 5th most popular or higher (Penny goes)

Excellent point, its that whole thing of people not voting for contestants who they think are 'safe', hence the mid-board danger zone.

It seems to be doesn't it, I keep trying not to post on them hoping they'll slide out of sight.

I got a bit too involved earlier but I'm now also plumping for this tactic! (and judicious use of my ignore button... )

Excellent! I knew there was a slight glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel - a repeat of week 5 position would be great!

Dominic just handed a £350,000 cheque to CIN from the SCD telephone vote so far (6 weeks). I make that about 1,400,000 total votes.

So the average votes per show is 233,333.

I thought that cheque was from The One Show (in conjuction with another company..?)

I'm making it 2,800,000 votes

Am a bit tired though! I'm dividing 350,000 by 0.125, they do get 12.5p per call don't they?

The number of votes will be twice that number as only half the cost of the vote goes to CIN, so 2,800,000 votes so far.

Useless Anton Stat...

Before this series, Anton had only come bottom of the leaderboard twice in the entire previous four series.

This season he was bottom five times!

Not 100% sure now because I was only half watching. Sorry.

Thanks to everyone who corrected my maths - forgot CIN only got half, doubling the vote.
