These are sold by Maplin. Has anyone used them (e.g. what is the range?)

Aldi has a similar thing on sale - again, has anyone used these?

Why would you want them? What do you leave on standby that doesn't have a proper on/off switch? Bear in mind sky boxes, videos, dvd recorders etc. are designed to stay in standby, and switching them off and on aren't going to do them any good.

I actually want to use them for controlling lights, but there isn't an appropriate section in DigitalSpy.

Thought someone here may have used them.

To turn my lasers on & off.

Note - the remote is not powered by a PP3 battery as stated on that webpage!

I bought some of them and sent them straight back - no idea why but they were causing MASSIVE interference with my TVs reception (being a receiver I wouldnt have thought they would).

I've got 3 of the on/off units and a couple of dimmers. They do interfere with the TV for some reason, but it's a momentary glitch only when actually using the remote.

I think they're pretty handy for controlling sockets that are difficult to get to (lamps plugged in behind sofas etc). The range of the wireless seems pretty good, but I've not really done any testing to see how far it would work from. Generally, I don't often want to switch something on or off unless I'm the room.
