Leona - Bleeding love
I feel I HAVE to post this as it's annoying me.
No, not Leona, as I think she is really good. Everytime I hear this song I feel it has been badly edited together. Is it just me or does it appear to jump at bits....it really is odd sounding in places. like they spliced it in the wrong bit by milli-seconds. Maybe I need my hearing tested. ![]() Maybe the radio station had a bad version of it. |

I can't stand the lyrics and it's very messily constructed, what with the half time change going on to the end.
She's also definitely had a nose job. |

i really like it - i think i know what you mean about the jumping, but think that just makes it sound more interesting.
she really does have an incredible voice, really does look fantastic - basically they should have called it a day with the x factor, as it's really difficult to imagine them ever finding anyone better than Leona. Iain |

it reminds me of Never Mind the Buzzcock show when they did the "song-done-in-a-club-style-thing"

Terrible song. Atrocious, can't wait for her next single that will do well for no other reason than the fact she was on the X Factor.

Its grown on me (but then it's on everywhere.all the time it seems).
She's got a very strong voice but she really hasnt much of a personality and the lyrics of the song are some of the most uninspired you'll ever hear. |

It's ok but it's not as good as some other stuff in the charts Avril, Take That and Britney should be in the top 3

I really like this song. She has a phenomenal voice, and this song shows it off really well. Quote:

Being on a TV talent show didn't exactly guarantee Steve Brookstein, One True Voice or Michelle McManus success. At the other extreme, are Girls Aloud still popular just because they were on Popstars: The Rivals five years ago? Of course not. Leona will succeed because she is an extremely talented singer, not just because she was on The X Factor. |

I think you might be being a little unfair there. Admittedly she did perform her current song on The X Factor the other week, and it no doubt gave her sales a boost. However I think it's unfair to say her singles have/will only succeed as a result of her being on The X Factor. Being on a TV talent show may give you a boost at first, but you need to build on that with your own merits if you want to succeed. At the end of the day unknownone,it all comes down to the writers/producers they work with.
Girls Aloud worked with the brilliant xenomania production team. |

I agree with some of your points, but do you honestly believe, that without all her massive airplay, ( which the above mentioned never had) tv promo, media promo and x-factor and tv appearances, that's slap bang in the middle of the latest series. That she'd sell close on half a million albums in their first week? No, it's because of x-factor, it's only her second single release, she'll never achieve these sort of sales again and if the x-factor wasn't airing on tv at the moment, her sales would be half of what they are, which would still be brilliant as she is a talented singer there's no doubt. But I think it's naive of people to believe that all her sales are down to her being a talented singer.

Truly awful song. It's hardly surprising seeing it at number one due to the sheer amount of over the top PR.
For some reason it reminds of a song from the Shakespeare's Sister. I do feel for Take That. Their new song from Stardust is a very good pop record. |

haha how could you avoid it? its on everything!
I don't listen to music radio. I don't watch crap TV music, entertainment or talent shows. I avoid anything with an X Factor/Pop Idol connection. My music taste is mainly 70/80's output and am happy with what I like. |

Let's see how Leona fares with her next album
![]() The situation is similar to James Blunt. Wherever you went could be heard "You're Beautiful" (In fact I preferred that to Bleedin' Love - easier on the ears )How's James' 2nd album doing now? |

Most overated and repititive song in the charts this century - its about 5 notes repeated, repeated and repeat. Amazing the Bridge and the chorus follow the same formula as the verse - sing the first line and repeat the same notes in the same order.
Oh, aside for the ohhhohhhuhhhuhh - bits that she does. The only song I can compare it with regarding its overateness and repetitiveness is Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.... I don't mind Snow Patrol, but I was simply amazed by its popularity and critical success. Some critics have called it a masterpiece and the one of the great songs of the last 30 years. Its the same notes repeated, repeated, repeated. Fair play, even Snow Patrol have said they couldn't understand its critical success... I just don't see it AT ALL. |
