Just by chance I noticed on the liner notes for one volume of the Australian Department S set today there was info confirming both "over the cliff" sequences were made initially for The Baron. But as ever Monty Berman got his moneysworth from them |

I've been watching this on ITV4; it's good fun. Most of the stories are pretty similar, but it's entertaining spotting now-famous actors in early roles - in the last couple of weeks the guest stars have included Paul Eddington, Anton Rogers and a very young Hannah Gordon.

It's one of the best of the ITC shows - shame ITV4 cut 3 minutes from every episode-and you should check out the Network dvd boxset in which the cast are reunited for the first time since they finished making the show in 1968

I watched it last night for the 1st time for xx years.
I thought it took itself far too seriously. And I loved the way they could hear each other from a short distance. Today we'd call it mobile phone technology. And Ms Bastedo vs Ms Rigg? No contest love!

IMO Alexandra Bastedo got to be one of the most stunning women ever to appear on TV.

Now that is just being silly! The Persuaders had class Roger Moore as Bret Sinclaire you'd be hard pressed to find an actor with the same class & suave as Moore & it certainly would not be Coogan.
Playing miniture talking toy Romans is one thing being a a suave Lord ala Moore - that is something else. |
