Ha, no she isn't too lazy or in fact a Susan. Not sure exactly what you have in mind but do feel free to start a thread.

I'm just off to check out the Greytops thread now

I am too lazy to start a thread, and I am not a Susan.

Some thread titles give no clue as to what is inside, such as Greytops, whose contents are known only to oldtimers who gradually found out. If a thread shows a total of 1,387 postings, then newcomers will be daunted by trawling through from thread 1.

So a Readers' Digest of thread contents,
or an Egon Ronay Stars Guide to readability

would really help those who have not given up their jobs and banished family in order to dedicate themselves 24x7 to reading SCD threads. I gather a system of star awards was once trialed by DS management, but these became meaningless because extremists and idolators hijacked the scheme. An informative, entertaining thread does not become less so simply because it has fallen out of sight through the bottom of screen page one.

Simply one-line descriptions of notable threads bearing uninformative titles. A description of Greytops, anyone?

DS tried that...it failed.

But Egon Ronay and Michelin succeeded.

England is run by single individuals. Shakespeare changed the language, Elizabeth David changed English cooking.

SCD started as a gleam in the eye of one BBC Light Entertainment executive, now the head of Splash TV who produce SCD, The Apprentice and Dragons' Den.

I do enjoy your posts Mistermind!

Some forums that I use have the thread title in bold (as on DS) but then a one-line small font description of what the thread is all about. Wish DS would do that - would save an awful lot of fannying about!
