unfortunately its a vote to save not a vote to kick out so unless her support really drops she could be there for a while yet

Evidently some people want to watch her, and are voting accordingly. I'd hate to be told to vote for anyone but my favourite...

but would you rather see two of the best couples in the final or two ofd the worst?
its not a matter of telling people who to vote for, if you like kate fair enough, but do you really think she can go on to win against the likes of alesha kelly gethin matt?

Thing is, at the moment there are too many couples left to "vote Kate out" - all one can do is vote for the good dancers and hope they stay in. As the numbers narrow down, people voting for the good dancers will have more of an effect on Kate... unless you can afford to vote multiple times for all the other contestants, how can you "vote her out"?

If previous years are anything to go by, she will eventually fall to the bottom of the table (unless she improves drastically) but in the meantime I personally am just voting to try and make sure my favourites don't end up there!!

Some people like watching Kate dance... I don't get it myself but I guess it's their money if they want to see more....

I don't like her, but if more people vote to save Kate than vote to save my favourite, then that is fair enough. Likelihood is she'll be gone soon enough, anyway.

Technically no you can't, but in practice you can by voting for other couples

I'll use your phone to do that then if you don't mind!

This is exactly why I've stopped voting on any TV programme; I don't trust the results any more because these shows always seem to end up with the token "plonker" personality that causes controversy & so gets more publicity for the show & ups viewing figures.
Until they are up-front & publish the statistics each week they are not getting any money from me via text or phone voting.
It's easy imo if you don't like watching Kate the imo specially selected "plonker" cast member gurn, stumble & wobble; record the programme & FF all her bits like I do now .

I think it's the same with things like the X Factor though - most people I know love watching the auditions where all the mad/bad/sad deluded people really think they've got a chance. I hate it, find it really embarrassing

and it's the same with SCD - I couldn't watch Fiona and I'm having trouble with Kate, I just find myself cringing. If I want to watch people who can actually do it a bit, well sue me!

So 9 (or however many) votes vs 1?!

OOOooooooooh Yes, I'm voting her out on her assigned number as hard as I can. I must have spent nearly a hundred quid by now. Join me in the crusade and vote kates number as hard as you can to.

I have to say that I'm not really following the logic there.

It is as mel1986x stated

Quote:

Of course, it also relies on people voting who would not have done so previously, I thought that was so obvious that I did not need to state it. It seems that I was wrong in that respect.

If you have truly spent £100 on voting for Kate then I can only assume you've more money than sense! oh to have £100 to waste on reality TV voting...

Whatever floats your boat, I guess.....

You'd do a lot better for charity donating £100 to CIN, but hey...!

AAaaaah but they are the highlight of my Saturday night, and I haven't found myself chuckling as heartily in many a long night.

Oh, go on then. Just cos you told me to I'll do it and vote somehow to get Kate out. Who would you like me to vote for to make sure that happens? You must know the tactical strategy, cos it obviously isn't just about me voting for the dancer I like (which of course must be the one you think is best - heaven forbid I'm voting for a dancer that isn't your favourite). I must ensure my hard earned cash is spent on a a Saturday night in a way that makes you happy. Please tell me, god forbid that I'd dare to use my own brains, feelings and preferences when I'm watching.

Oh, sorry, I forgot. I've been told so many times on this forum that this is a dancing contest - FULL STOP!!!!!! I must rush out and get my certified-dance-judge-fast-track-training right now!!!! And pay for 10 million others to do it too.

Alas, this show is entirely geared to saving people rather than booting them out. You could always beg for everyone to vote for the better dancers, but then this brings up what I think has caused the problem with voting this year. There are too many good dancers. This series had more pre-trained dancers than ever, lots of whom became very good very quickly as soon as they got past their nerves and first week stumbles. If you have one vote to cast, and you're a viewer who votes purely for dancing, that's a lot of people to choose from. If you vote purely on entertainment, there are fewer contestants to choose between. If, probably like most viewers, you vote as a mix of dance and entertainment and personality, then your vote is likely to go to the best dancers with the most appealing personalities. In all of these categories people like Gabby and Penny suffer. They're not quite the best dancers (although very good indeed) so maybe miss out on a lot of the votes cast by those who vote purely on dancing, they're not hugely entertaining from a personality point of view and so miss out there too - and amongst all the better dancers, they're personalities are not hugely appealing. Gabby in particular was very difficult to warm to and I completely was not surprised when she ended up in the bottom two. Penny again, whilst very sweet isn't very interesting.

If they had a lesser number of pretrained contestants, the 'entertainment' vote would be more heavily split - and I think you'd find on the most part the better dancers stayed in.

Personally I find Kate a joy to watch - though I've never voted for her. But I find myself willing her on each week and I'd much rather sit and laugh at Kate and Anton's self-deprecating humour and have-a-go attitude, than wince at Gabby's steely determination and sour face when she doesn't get the highest score of the competition.

People can vote to save Kate if they want. I do wonder why they bother watching a dance contest though when all they want to watch is Kate fall over and not even try in her dancing....but hey ho!

Kate has had a good run at six weeks. If she is good on Saturday, I will hold my hands up, but I know she won't be and that should now be the end of her...she is not getting better. And Anton looks more and more mortified by the minute.

I reckon you're right there Fraggle - the "dance" vote is split around.

Get rid of the best car crash tv, ever and the great thing is she actually thinks she is getting better. Now lets get behind her for one more week then drop her like a ton weight in a weeks time, time to go Kenny this week.

I think it's harsh to say she doesn't try when to me she clearly is. I certainly wouldn't be taking it as well as she is when people are constantly telling her how crap she is and how she doesn't deserve to be there. It's a great message to people though innit? If you suck you shouldn't even bother trying to dance! Maybe I should go to those regional comps and shout at the sidelines to the couples I think are awful. Even better, I should start with the young kids and tell them how they shouldn't even bother.
Let people do what they want to do and if they want to support kate then let them. It's all in good fun people
