◙ Training Table ◙
Endemoniada
15-11-2007
As per today's ITT:

Alesha & Matt 228.0

Kate & Anton 214.5

Kenny & Ola 205.0

Matt & Flavia 203.5

Kelly & Brendan 195.0

Letitia & Darren 193.0

Gethin & Camilla 160.5

John & Nicole 159.0

Any surprises?

I suspected John would be low but wouldn't have predicted Gethin as he seems to have improved a fair bit (possibly the most?).

EDIT: Just to add that the average is 195 (= Kelly & Brendan).

Maybe the judges shouldnt score, the training time should count for 1/2!

What exactly have Kate and Anton been up to for all that time!?

Surprised at Kate and Anton and also Leticia (she isn't exactly busy at the moment is she?).

Not surprised that John and Gethin are the lowest as Gethin in particular is v. busy with other commitments as is Kelly.

I think you are right about John and Gethin .
They seem to have to fit in training after BP late in the evenings

Arseing around.....judging by the standard of her dancing.

That's a total over all the weeks, isn't it. Doesn't necessarily show the order they're in now. I remember week one Claudia telling Gethin he'd done far, far less training than everyone else, perhaps even half as much. He probably caught up a bit when he had 2 weeks off from BP, but that's still probably affecting the figures.

I'm of the 'it ain't what you do it's the way that you do it' school. Vincent and Louise's jive is still one of my favourite dancers ever.

Maybe we've got it all wrong.

Maybe it's the dance equivalent of Les Dawson's piano playing.

According to the SCD book ... Mark and Karen last year trained 312.5 hours. Matt and Lilia trained 209.25 hours, so some of those couples have already done more! There are quite a number of mistakes in it though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's wrong.

Maybe the whole Kate ragdoll thing is all an act, and she's going to shock everyone in a "What a feeling/Flashdance" fashion and do a fantastic dance out of hold - perhaps this week's paso?

I was thinking that - or perhaps when she's in the dance off, she'll do something amazing and the judges'll have no choice but to save her!

I don't know what Kate is doing all those hours.
I bet if her training hours were 50 hours less the end result would still be the same.

Standing there saying I can't do it..the rest of the time is taken up by Anton having a nervous breakdown

Bearing in mind the amount of time that Kate was on crutches and unable to train, that's an amazing amount of hours.

LOL Probably practising chewing her lip as well.

It all depends on how you spend that time. The training footage of John shown this week he was drenched in sweat. (Karen needed to see that!)
Hours in training room doesn't equal effort put in.

I'm not being facetious or having a dig, I honestly think she's be better off to train less, get more sleep and see a bit of her family. No wonder he gets so grumpy and she so tearful. The jitterbug showed that Kate can keep the beat and remember choreography, what she needs is more attack in her performance, and that doesn't come from being worn down.

I think that the Jitterbug shows she can do it, and if she didn't have so many hang-ups about doing it on her own, she'd probably be doing a lot better. Not wonderfully, mind, just not woeful like now.

You have a point!

Clearly, training all the hours she has free isn't working, maybe more sleep and more efficient training would.

Living proof that time doesn't always correlate to progress, isn't she.

I can only imagine that, for whatever reason, she's not really interested, or is not listening to Anton. Or, possibly, she's a very slooooooow learner.

I dont often post about Kate and Anton but i do think that Kate is doing the best she can.

Its not fair that people are posting saying that they don't know what they're doing in their training or that they are just arseing around because they do seem to try hard.

After seeing the ITT a day with Kate the other week, I have a lot of respect for her because waking up at that time every morning, working till 11, dancing until 5 and then getting home late where she has a young child must be shattering for her. And when you compare that to a certain Kelly Brook's "busy day" you can see that she has a tough time.

I think we all know that Kate isn't the best dancer in the competition, but she does try, and i think she should be rewarded on that even if it is on ITT.

Kate should be in the competition until she is voted out, no matter when that is.

She doesn't do that every morning. There are and have been a lot of working parents (some with young kids) on the show. Kate isn't special in that respect.
