Non-celebrity SCD

I know there's been strictly dance fever, but i was thinking, we're on SCD 5 and although im loving it at the moment it's eventually going to get boring like, I'm a Celeb get me out of here and Big Brother.

they're eventually going to run out of celebrities that people recognise, so why not introduce SCD to the public?

1) people can apply, but the problem would be on their abilities and how honest they are about them, i'd like to see people who've never danced like this before

2) partnered with our ever so popular professionals, because although obviously normal people don't have publicity already, it would be almost like BB (which i despise btw)

3) with a cash prize or something like that for the winner

Just a suggestion, what's your opinion ??

Something I'd love to do - but not sure if it would be popular or not in terms of viewers like SCD is... (and I am sure I wouldn't get picked! )

Well that would be an incentive for me to hit the gym and get fit

I think they could do a PART celebrity / PART non-celebrity SCD ....

If there were NO celebs there would be a lack of appeal for the general public.

Perhaps they could audition UK public (not for trained dancers but true natural amateurs) and then see how say 6 general public peeps coped with 6 celebs all partnering a professional partner.

I bagsy Anton !!!!!!!!

I've probably thought this every series but I'm not content just watching it on TV anymore or going to see it live very occasionally. I actually want to be on it!

Damnit, I wanted to partner Matt or Anton ... I would say Ian but at 5ft1, we might look a little odd together. James Jordan it is.

I'd be as enthusiastic about watching this as the celeb version. I always wonder how hard they find it getting celebs, they've managed to so far avoid scraping the bottom of the barrel but if they are going to continue with 14 celebs each year it's going to be hard

Well I would bag Brendan but as I'm so short it would look funny and also I think I'd drive him mad as I'd probably be worse than Kate is... so in terms of size and the fact he'd be less likely to want to strangle me I'd have Darren

Bagsy Brendan! And being 5ft 10 I'd be OK height wise (I think)

However, I would think SCD will last a few years yet as it's one of the more popular reality TV shows for celebs and there are no shortage of celebs who would love to do it and have said so in interviews, blimey even Princess Beatrice want's to do it - imagine the kudos for the show if they got her involved.

I see Matthew got nabbed pretty quickly

well seeing as I'm only diddy I bagsy Vincent

I remember Arlene saying that they have lots of celebs agents sending in tapes of their celebs wanting to take part in the show, because its such a big show and a normally well put together program I'm sure there will always be celebs wanting to take part

Ah, I didn't know about that.

I did read an interview earlier this year with Alesha saying she wanted to do Strictly, so maybe her agent sent in a request....and then she gets paired with Matthew. Lucky girl.

Unfortunately it would end up like BB....The media interest would probably be intense and no doubt a few skeletons would be discovered by the press. In this media driven world, in which we now live, you would loose that most precious of gifts....your anonymity. ......and lets not forget, do you really want to be the subject of a "I strongly dislike X" thread.
