You can get closer than that.

If, as seems likely, Matt was second to bottom in the audience vote he got 2 points for that so with the 5 points he got from the judges he had 7 points in total. For Kate to avoid the dance-off she would have to have the same number of points in total. For Kate to have 7 points she would have to get 6 points from the audience vote. That would put her no lower than 4th place with the audience.

Only if Matt was bottom with the audience would Kate have been in 5th place or higher with the audience.
I get all of that DP...all I'm saying is that it doesn't take much for that to change e.g. if Kate had finished 5th with the public she would have been in the dance off. We just don't know how close she came because she could have been anywhere between 1st and 4th with the public. Only time will tell how big the Cult of Garraway actually is.

Go fer it gal, enjoy it and stop feeling guilty .... that you are raising more money for charity that those that are not there any more
Are you trying to be rude about the very people who are supporting Kate? You seem to be suggesting that these people will only vote for Kate, and once she is out of the competition they will no longer vote for anyone and hence no longer give their money to CIN.
I think the voters of everybody, including Kate, deserve to be better thought of than that. I'm sure that most of them would give their money by voting for someone, regardless of who was in the competition.
It is voting for anybody that matters as far as charity is concerned. The people who voted for Penny or Gabby or Dom are to be congratulated for voting and giving money to charity. They are probably still voting this week.
As to the celebs that have gone out - are they lesser people because fewer people voted for them so they raised less money as in individual. No of course not.
It is the competition as a whole that raises the money. The celebs, the professionals and the judges all play their part in making the competition exciting enough for people to want to watch and to place their vote. They all have a role to play in keeping the competition exciting and increasing viewing figures as much as possible. Only in that way do more people vote. In that respect no one celebrity is any more important than anyone else.

Kate's silent army of supporters have lived through unbelievable mocking and virulent abuse together with Kate and Anton for 6 weeks now. This army of supporters will have built up a firm bond with Kate.

Kate will leave before the Final but not tomorrow, I believe. When she does go, whichever remaining candidate receives Kate's blessing on Monday ITT will from then on inherit Kate's HUGE block of loyal phone votes.

Kate's last act will be as kingmaker or queenmaker. It will be extremely unwise for Alesha's or Kelly's camp to antagonise Kate.
I do not wish to insult you, but that is one of the silliest posts I have ever read. King or Queen maker - my @rse as Jim Royle might say Let's hope that last act is tomorrow - about 4 weeks too late.....

shame on you!

Kate & Anton are the back bone of the show, surely it's all about non-dancers learning to dance - not dancers showing off? *curls into ball as Kelly fans pounce*

Another Kate apologist creeps out of the woodwork - we don't live long enough to wait for Kate to learn to dance

ERmm i DO not creep anywhere

Have been vocal in defence of Kate, although mainly on BBC: SCD forum

I do realise that she shouldn't get to the final, Gethin or Alisha please - BUT she doesn't deserve the bashing she gets!!

My goodness, will the show collapse when they get voted off? I actually do want them to stick around for a bit, but at least I have the decency to feel slightly bad about it! (Last week really was awful...)

There it is again, the personal attack, truely some people need to get some manners and get wise to the fact that insults and rudeness say far more about the perp than the victim

Uuuummm interesting, if hasn't got a backbone then it must have an exoskeleton or it wouldn't be able to stand up. In which case is SCD an insect or an arthropod?

Kitten is clearly just joshing here. If you're actually seeing this as an attack you really are suffering from a sense of humour failure IMO!

No, but saying this is!? (D'ya think "the victim" would find it funny?) I can actually see the funny side of both but fail to see the difference? Is it OK to make tongue-in-cheek jibes/insults at/about the celebs but not about other posters!?

Preying Mantis's happen to be my favourite insect, I just love their appetite" for raw sex"preferably with the head of their mate on the side!
