The first year he had rowetta singing it,the second year he got shayne to sing it (yes i know shayne wasnt one of his acts but it was judges choice week and simon chose it for shayne) and last year he had leona sing it,also each year predictably he said "that is not just the best performance of the night, thats the best performance of the entire series (or variation on)

So who will sing somewhere over the rainbow this time?

i think this may be the first year no one will sing it....but if someone did propably Niki, perhaps Rhydian can try and make it his style....

Hopefully no one...

(He also chose it for Katherine McPhee on Idol and said it was her best performance of the series.)

I could live without hearing this song on the show again but if someone's got to do it, I'd much rather it was Rhydian than Niki. Niki's version would be nice enough but nothing exciting, whereas Rhydian would make it something special, I think.

Well, we've already had Shirley Bassey, and the only thing camper than Shirley is Judy.

Rhydian would do it brilliantly and make it his own

Rhydian would TOTALLY nail that song. And you can just imagine the pink bloggers like Hilton getting in a real tizz when they saw that, lol.

While I groan at the predicatability of it I'd actually love to see Rhydian sing it.

Brilliant!

Rhydian really should get some Liza going as well.

They should let Leon have a go - so long as he doesn't try to 'dance' to it he should be OK

I would rather hear Rhydian sing another X Factor staple - I Will Always Love You

Bt he will probably get SOTR to. As always, it will have to be sung in the final so I think that rules out a whole bunch of people

Did I read that the little girl with no front teeth from Britains got Talent is supposed to be releasing this for a Christmas No.1?

It'll be "Grandma We Love You" all over again. Its times like this I thank the Lord for the demise of TOTP.

(Actually, I thought she was very sweet the first time I saw her sing this and I did shed a tear, but not sure it will wear well after I have heard it numerous times on the radio).

One of the most excruciatingly bad songs ever!

I wasn't a fan of Shayne and am a fan of Rhydian but Shayne's version of SOTR is going to take some topping, it's the best I've heard

Am I the only person who hates this song. It's just cringeworthy.

As for the 6 year old who's parents cashed in on the fact that she resembled Madelin Mccann...

If that's Christmas No.1 they may as well have just had the X Factor winner No. 1 again.

Even Simon "I'd sell my granny" Cowell said that she was too young to be exploited in the charts after BGT. So who the hell is releasing this?
