DVD's Which Play JPEG's

I take alot of digital pictures and i am going to Sydney in 4 months so will be taking hundreds. Up to now i use Nero to turn my pics into VCD format and burn onto CD. This works fine, but takes Nero along time to do.

I was wondering if you could recommend any dvd players that read jpegs on cd-r disks. Also DO some read Kodak Picture CD's.

If it's possible could someone post a snapshop of what the layout's like on screen.

Thanks for any info.

Philips have a number of DVD players that can display and manipulate jpegs written on a standard cdr.
Not sure if they support the Kodak picture disks though.

Please don't mix up picture and photo CD.

Photo CD is the Kodak standard which comes with varying resolution photos scans but needs special software to view/edit.

Picture CD is the one with JPEG format snaps. These are the ones that most shops now do since even basic easily available software can handle these.

My medion reads Jpegs and bitmaps no problem. I just create data disks and fill them with pics and they appear as a directory structure on my player.

I would v strongly recomend the Compaks 5000 series - £49.99 at Safeway. (I know Safeways is crap - but this player does make it worth a visit).

It can view jpegs, play mpegs, and even has progressive scan!!
