On DWTS last night, I noticed a dance move that hadn't been done in any of the shows before.

I don't know the name of the move, but it occured in a quickstep done by Helio and Julianne. It involved the girl leaning back over the boy's knee, while he gave her a kiss.

This was not a polite peck-on-the-cheek, but a full-on mouth-to-mouth smacker.

The dance got straight 10s, and Len commented that in 5 seasons of judging these competitions, this was the best quickstep he'd seen.

I don't think there are many other couples who could do such a move, without making it look uncomfortable. But I think Gethin and Camilla might, and it would surely bring the house down if they did.

I think I'd have a cardiac arrest if Matt kissed Alesha at the end of one of their dances

These things work better in DWTS though, like when Mel and Maks went up to the judges at the end of their rumba. Would have been incredibly corny on Strictly!

To be fair - the rest of that quickstep was absolute incredible! Not surprised it got straight tens!! What a great dance!

If you didn't see it, the kiss did have a purpose and go with the routine, as they were doing something inspired by The Mask. They didn't just throw it in there for no reason!

only "kiss" I can think of in Strictly is from Julian and Erin's showdance, which I thought was lovely

Use an inspiring energetic catchy song. I think he will have to concentrate less on technique and more on performance

Thanks for posting the routine - fun! Little bit frantic for me but good, and it looked more like the dance it was supposed to be than some of the DWTS routines I've seen (I know it's the American style, but sometimes I can't tell what a dance is supposed to be!)
