Although I never thought I'd say it, can Leona clench onto her running streak or will the Spice Girls do it with their mediocre ballad, a crime imo if they do (don't get me wrong I love the old school spicers)..

I don't think they will catch her. The song isn't good enough. Leona should be fine.

I guess we will have to see. The Spices do still have a die-hard fan base of 25,000 who will buy the CD SINGLE for the CD to be added to their collections. 20,000 is all you need to enter at number one these days.

LOL I've seen that quoted in a couple of threads now by the same person. Perhaps he/she went round and counted.

Me too! Have also seen that figure quoted in several threads also and thought it was odd! Anyways, back on topic... I have nothing against The Spice Girls (used to own the first two albums back in the 90's). But the new single is just piss-poor and considering how it's selling on downloads it looks highly unlikely that it's going to get to No.1 even after it's physical release.

I think the Spice Girls have made a terrible mistake in reforming.

i dont! they have sold out all the dates and seem really happy now. I wouldnt be surprised if they all realise soon that they are nothing without each other and stay together...

There performance the other night on CIN was amazing (even tho they mimed) i was glued to the TV and it made me happy watching them all together and they all looked amazing and looked as if they really enjoyed it!

I don't think they'll get to number one, yes their fan base is huge and they've sold out their tour, but that doesn't mean your CD will sell out too. Internet piracy has destroyed it all.

Oh, but I definitely think they're better than Leona, she wouldn't be anywhere without X Factor.

The Spice Girls released the physical edition of the single today, to give them an extra day of sales against new releases.

I think they have a shot at the No.1, but I wouldn't bet my money on it.

I predict Top 3 (ideally no.2, so as to keep their record of never charting lower than 2nd as a band).

What an indictment on the state of the music industry

I don't think even the biggest Spice Girls fan would argue otherwise!

Leona Lewis is very dull though, she couldn't even read the number properly on Children In Need

People will buy anything Simon Cowell tells them too

Spice Girls rocked Children In Need, 2 million more viewers tuned into the show when they performed!

Loving Headlines, get that moany bint off the top spot.

Of course there fan base is bigger than that but how many do you think will buy their records? I'm just taking a guess at the die-hards who will.

The Spice Girls need to sell about 35k I would think this week to knock Leona off the top. Her sales have been madness. Normally well at least recently a number one would only need to sell between 12k and 20k.

I think the SG have just hit bad timing.

The Spice Girls single will not get to number 1 this week or any other week. I think number 4 or 5 will be the highest it will get to.

BTW only 1 song in recent years, No Tomorrow by Orson, has got to number 1 selling less than 20k copies and the lowest sales for a song entering at number 1 is 21,128 for Goodies by Ciara.

The Spice Girls will need to sell around 70k singles this week to knock Leona off the top and that will not happen.

Bunch of has-been slappers vs. wailing, warbling, screeching contest winner.
This is the height of musical talent is it? Must be some real music lovers on here.
Makes me want to listen to Radio 4.

Leona has dropped from number 1 to number 15 on the HMV download chart within 24 hours.

She has been ontop of the hmv download chart for weeks now shes fallen down to Number 15 below Spice Girls. Take That are at 1 with kylie at 2. Spice Girls at No8. It will be intresting to keep an eye on Leona on the download charts to see if she starts falling elsewhere because thats one hell of a big drop! I hope her bubble hasn't burst all ready with the mad sales she has had recently.

In what way was it 'amazing'? As you say they mimed!
Granted - it would've been pitiful had they actually tried to sing live!
At least Leona can actually sing!

The Spice Girls and Leona couldn't be more different. The SG's are purely a great cheesy pop group, they put on good fun shows and have good stage presence. No-one would disagree that they aren't the best singers in the world, but they are good performers. Leona is a shy, sweet, down to earth girl who has an amazing, amazing voice! She still has things to learn about performing, but I'm sure she will improve greatly.
