I have a Sanyo DVD player with buuilt in Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder and speakers. My wiring arrangement is as follows:

DVD -> Digibox -> TV

This allows me to hear SKY through the surround sound system on the DVD player aswell as watch DVD's. I went to watch a DVD tonight and for some reason this setup is no longer working

Normally when I select the DVD/CD function on the DVD player, the TV automatically switches to the DVD player but this no longer happens. The sound is still coming out OK. The only way around this so far is to plug the DVD into AV2 on the telly but this isn't RGB enabled and I'm curious as to why it no longer works!!

Could it be the Digibox?

I would think the most likely cause is a loose scart cable. Try reseating both ends of the cable.

With the setup as described I'd guess that you are actually watching DVDs in composite not RGB. The VCR connector on the digibox doesn't have RGB support only composite. You'd probably get a better picture using S-Video through AV2 is it's available on your DVD player.

I dont think this is true, whilst the digibox doesn't output RGB on the scart socket it does allow RGB input to it and passes it through to the TV out scart when in standby.

Do you get a picture from the DVD player when the sky box is in standby?
