In the red corner... Jill's fans!

In the blue corner... Kelly's fans!

Ding Ding!

Fight! Fight! Fight!

(I thought Kelly was a bit clumsy at times and lacked bounce - no more closer to Jill than Alesha was - I also think Jill's first performance of their jive was better for some reason)

Ive just watched jill's and darrens... you know what the technique is the same, and it wasnt the same, I think kelly wasn kelly dancing that! so well done! I thought it was amazing!

Didn't Jill's jive get a ridiculously low score first time round?

I think everyone's lost the plot with Kelly and Brendan. Yes, it was a good jive. But to put it up with Jill and Darren's is ridiculous - the content was nowhere near as complicated or energetic. I thought it was a bit disappointing. By contrast, Alesha and Matt were fab - undermarked by Craig if he says it's the first time he's ever had goosebumps ...

Hasn't all this been flogged to death over in the SCD show thread? Did it really need one of its very own!

I thought they did a good job tonight and were perhaps worthy of one ten. U am taking it as being separate to Jill and Darren - different series different time.

As some people have already pointed out, Arlene said that Brendan and Kelly were the closest. All that means is that she was taking the Jill and Darren jive as the marker for excellence. She didn't say how close Kelly and Brendan were - just that it was the next best jive.

Certainly ridiculous by current standards IMO... I think if they came in and jived exactly like that first jive in the current series they'd be marked a lot higher. I forget the exact mark, but it was lower than we'd expect in this series I think.

(I was watching something from an earlier series earlier on today, I can't even remember which one it was/who/what dance (I have a youtube fest!) and it was a lot better than some of what we have seen Craig giving a 3 or 4 to and being booed for it - and Craig gave a 2!! )

left me feeling underwhelmed, something was missing for me...

Jill was what was missing!!

I thought it was very mediocre. Not a big fan though, can't stand the way she has to giggle after every sentence she says.

Where's Billy by the way?? Had enough??

Ohhh yeah ”

I completely agree . Oh yeah !

And this was just what Karen said

I thought that Kelly & Brendan's jive didn't even come close to Jill & Darren's jive. Jill & Darren's jive was out of this world,....THE BEST of all the series of SCD so far. Me thinks that Arlene needs to visit Specsavers! I also found Kelly a bit skippy in places.

kelly and brendan did a great jive but there was just something special about jill's jive.

I didn't listen to the judges comments.
I don't feel the dance fulfilled his potential. I'm actually not in favour of pros underdancing which I think Brendan did. With someone with obvious talent like Kelly he should up the performance and energy which is his strongest point (eg pro jive last week)
I didn't see much chemistry between the 2 and thought the choreography was repetitive.
But saying that it was one of the best dances of the night.

Well I don't like Kelly and I've never made any secret of the fact, but last week I thought her VW was very good and said so.

This week her jive was ok - maybe worth 8's but it was nowhere near Jill and Darren's - apart from Jill's natural ability (and she had that in spades) her compact build was perfect for the dance.

I thought Kelly and Brendon's jive was really good tonight and I really enjoyed it - however, agree with everyone else on here - it wasn't anywhere near Jill Halfpenny's. Thats the best dance in the whole series and I never tire of watching it. It just leaves me breathless, and nobody will ever come close to that.

However, Arlene didn't say kelly and Brendon were as good - she just said it was close to. And compared to some of the other dancers, she does have a point.

LOL - agree it was alright, but was also underwhelmed. Nowhere near Jills jive. For me they don't have any appeal as a couple. She's not improving at all - just the same as at the start.

It was Ok, but there was a part in the middle that seemed very, repetitive and dull... almost as though an extra 30 seconds were added to the dance that was choreographed.

Nowhere near as good as Jill and Darren though, and I think I preferred Aleshas dance too.

As a person and couple I have actually really warmed to them. As a jive, it left me cold. I was expecting to be amazed. At times it looked great, it was quite flat in the middle though and I thought there were a few wobbles. Not in Jill's league IMO, but still a great attempt at a difficult dance!!

Darren was probably bricking it backstage in case it upstaged his famous jive

Which is didnt............

Anyway, I thought Kelly's jive was pretty good. Jill scored 35first time round with her jive -then of course 40 in the finals. Kelly did a respectable job and looked great. However, Jill and Darrens jive will forever be the benchmark against which all other jives will be marked. If I was gonna jive on SCD i wouldnt mention Jill and Darren in case people compared me so that maybe wasnt a great idea Kelly!

ps -why cant we get Jill and Darren back for a champion of champions -then we would see how they all measure up!

I warmed considerably to Kelly (and Brenndan), and I think some of the threads about her "so called" antics are weird (e.g. her selecting Kenny's samba as her favourite bit was an insult to Kenny, yeah right:).

I did think technically their dance looked very good, but it somehow seemed to lack something. In contrast, Jill and Darren's dance had the extra "wow factor".

Having said that, Kelly and Brendan did deserve their marks.

I thought (and have said elsewhere) that that was an unfortunate choice of words on her part... I cringed for her rather than at her.

Man, I am SO intrigued to see this jive, there seem to be as many opinions as people talking about it...

I thought that about the middle - there was a bit were Kelly was just squiggling and Brendan was doin' his thang that just seemed like it was put in for a bit of breathing space that was ... boring.
