Matt's Waltz - perfect formula for success!

The other professionals and celebrities looking for the formula for success need look no further than Matt & Alesha's waltz. First, it had romantic waltz music played in proper waltz time. And second, it contained some lovely basic waltz movements that all dancers can associate with.
Finally, of course, it was gracefully danced by two very good-looking people. Thank goodness two of the judges thought it was worth a ten. The fact that Len Goodman marked it only 2 marks higher than the ludicrous 'cha cha' by Kenny Logan speaks volumes about this man's judgement!

I agree with you completely. i spend my time lurking at bar Cutler and we were nearly in tears because their waltz was perfect and so romantic. They should have got more than 2 points higher than Kenny who should not have got a 7!

when I saw the thread title I though you meant Matt Dawson's - now there was a perfect waltz.

I thought the beauty of Matt's routine was the simplicity of it. It was just gorgeous and elegant, nothing fussy, just class.

Exactly !!!! the beauty of the Waltz was it's simplicity not over complicated and preformed beautifully - I thought it was definitely their best dance so far

It was great as it looked romantic and effortless. It was simplistic in the sense that it had no showy frills and so it looked classy, but as we heard on ITT in the week it also included some challenging steps.

The music choice was inspired IMO! Really made the routine that little bit extra special.

This is where some of the professionals make grave errors of judgement. Their complicated choreography is often too much for their partners and they end up dragging them around like rag dolls. Matt had it just right, smooth and elegant with genuine waltz movements.

They are so perfect together and rightly getting fantastic scores... 36/33/36/35/38 and Kelly and Brendan are their nearest rivals 33/35/28/36/36. I liked both of their dancecs tonight but picked Kelly and Brendan as my top, as the Jive is my favourite dance.

Agreed. I thought Matt Dawson's Waltz last season was better.

Yes, for saying Matt Dawson was not a professional dancer it was excellent, and the best waltz by a non-pro in all the series. But there was something about Matt & Alesha's waltz that had a magical quality that will be hard to surpass.
