thanks for all the explanations .... but I still don't get it.

Does this mean it doesn't actually matter how many points they get?

How do they mark it anyway - I've never quite got the hang of it.

Will go away and look on beeb site,

sorry for being so dim!!

Its position and not votes that counts. Same with the public vote.

I don't think the judges are that clever. I wish they were.

Or they have made a concerted effort to vote according to ability, execution and performance of the dance. In my mind their votes were then an accurate reflection of that.

Now look mossy I'm really not looking for an arguement here. The placings do make it nigh on impossible for the two K's to go through this week. I'm not beefing about it infact i'm quite interested in which of the two gets the higher public vote and is thus safe. As for the judges making a concerted effort to vote according to ability, execution and performance, well lets just say that's a very novel idea IMHO. Happy voting Mossy

I don't think there's too different between this week and previous weeks. The Gabby and Penny bottom two was actually a bit similar to this. Anyway, let's hope it doesn't happen again. I think Gethin is popular enough to be out of the bottom two so I wouldn't be surprised if Matt or Letitia in the bottom two. It's all down to popularity now.

Agreed.

I suppose it all depends on the influence of the producers, but even then it would take alot.

Simply because there are now fewer dancers and the spread of points is smaller, the chance of Kenny or Kate being in the bottom two has to be greater. I think it is very unlikely that they would get a higher phone vote than Alesha or Gethin and probably Letitia too. Kelly and Matt I'm less sure about but Kelly is near the top of the leaderboard. I think it's going to be Kenny or (hopefull)y Kate with John. Matt is coming over as rather cock sure and this could count against him.

Indeed - Alesha gave Craig goose bumbs which he says he has never had before on Strictly, yet only gave her a 9???

I beg your pardon?
John is by no means the best dancer there, but he has loads of natural rhythm and is streets ahead of sad-sack Kate and clumpy Kenny.

Very true!

I suspect that Saturn is correct regarding Gethin's 'phone votes. The betting markets moved in his favour during the show and I am sure that this wasn't a result of the judges' scores.
