If its the best Professional couple in the world then its Bryan and CArment who have won the title since 1999 up to this year.

It may well be the Professional Amatuer World Champ they have on but they can't pass any other couple off as the best in the world

Did Tess say the best in the world? I can't remember. If she did say best in the world, I agree with your bendymixer there are only two couples who could be passed of as best in the world. Surely they wouldn't call anyone else the Number 1 Latin couple, although I wouldn't put much else past the show.

Err excuse me one day they are dancing together and the next Bryan has finished the partnership and dancing with CArmen so I think we know for sure he did dump Karen.

I know Karen frrom her days with Mark Lunn years ago and she was devastated so much so she packed in dancing so yes we do know for sure

no it was a bitter split made worse by the fact HE RANG HER instead of telling her to her face and was out on the floor dancing with CArmen almost immediately indicating they had been reherseing whilst he was still with Karen

She was really sweet with him when he retired so it looks like anything that happened is truly in the past now.

It doesn't matter what happened in the past. I'm sure if they're on then Karen would have played a part in getting them to appear. Plus if she did have a problem with it, I'm equally sure the BBC wouldn't have had them on. I know they're amazing dancers, but the showmakers are not going to do anything to seriously offend any of their current pros. It'd be seriously lacking in tact and class.

As has been pointed out, they are on very friendly terms with each other these days anyway so that's all hypothetical.

They've worked together commentating since so I'm sure there would be no problem having them on the show together. Also, as people have mentioned, they seem to get on well again now - even if deep down there is still a bit of hurt there from Karen.

If it is Bryan and Carmen, which I'm sure it must be unless they are referring to the number one couple since they retired, it's great to see them on the show. They are such legends.

I would love to see Michael and Joanna (the number one couple since Bryan and Carmen retired) on one week though, the crowd would go wild for them, as they always do exciting choreography. I would also love to see Slavik and Elena (ranked number one with the weird points system, but really the number 2 couple), but not sure if they would do it.

Gotta say, when I heard this, I did think it would be Michael & Joanna. Although to see Bryan & Carmen dance would be incredible. Lucky sods, whoever is in the audience!

Yeah - Karen said as much in an interview - she said how she was devastated when she got that phone call and then on another interview said how Bryan had phoned her up to break up - and how devastated she was.

The number one couple in the world wouldn't be the ones who won on Friday at Blackpool, as this Blackpool is for British couples only, and frankly Britain has no ACE Latin couples anymore. Can't honestly think who is world champion at present - Brian and Carmen have retired.

Just wondering is this congratulating Bryan dumping Karen. As if he did, although I know he is an amazing dancer doesn't say much about him as a person the way he did it.

I wasn't sure if Tess said the couple performing was the best in the world, or in the country, so thought as the British Nationals were in Blackpool on Friday it may have made some sense to have them on as the so called best couple in this country. But I do hope it is a proper Number 1 latin couple, not someone that Strictly tries to con is the number 1.
