I've never really liked this years voting system. SCD was allways about the viewers choosing, now it dosen't matter who the viewers choose really because if they get into the bottom two the judges have their pick. I think we should go back to last years format. It was only a matter of time before Kate ended up bottom two and it was obvious who would go then.

Even I wanted Kate to go this week - mostly because she looked as if she was in agony and watching her undergo that was awful. If her pain was as excructiating as it looked (not from anything she actually said because she was actually very matter of fact about it despite the way some on other threads are levelling accusations of her 'milking it'!) then she really needs to look after her own health now.
And she lasted a long time, considering!

Perhaps we should cut off the Beebs cash cow and not vote? Ratings are going to matter more to the commercial channels, as they need high ratings to attract the advertisers. Money matters more to the Beeb.
Obviously Kate was in terible pain last night but give her creidt she still came out and gave it her best shot. You could see her sway and looked in pain during the usual venomous comments from at least 2 of the 'judges'. Maybe they could start a new show about being respectful to others bet I know who would get voted out first!!!
Shame on you Craig and Arlene you really showed your nasty sides in this series. How do you sleep at night. How does Derek (Draper) keep himself away from you. there was no need for some of your comments. When the other dancers weren't that good it never got that personal and in a way bullying.

I think Kenny will be out next week. Cant see him lasting much longer to be honest.

The judges should save her too. There is nobody anywhere near her for dancing. Why unpopular? I think she is a very nice ladylike woman. Bit daft, but not a reason to be unpopular. Must be the green eyed monster rearing its ugly head. She is so beautiful too.

Although not a Kate fan, I think Kate tried her best last night. She seemed to be genuinely in pain, frustrated by her injury, and subdued compared to previous weeks. Also whatever anyone thinks of Kate's dancing, she had put in lots of hours practicing. And although Anton choreographed much of the dance in hold it was still recognisably a paso.
I'd like to see Kenny attempt his dance properly next week. His VW last week was good, and I liked his paso, but he opted out this week (or Ola did) with very little cha cha steps in their dance.
I think it is a shame when anyone goes. I remember previous series for a mixture of things. e.g. Jill Halfpenny's sassy jive, Darren Gough's gradual improvement and some truly awful but entertaining paso's from Schmeichel and Dennis Taylor. It takes a cross section of ingredients to bake a good cake.

I agree with you Kentishmaid, but if the Beeb "P" off the viewers too much with all their fiddling, the ratings will plummet.
I find the whole voting system ridiculous. Change the voting till after they have performed. I'm sure they would still raise loads of cash and we would have only ourselves to blame if our favourites weren't kept in at this point. At least the ITT programme and other media influences are kept to a minimum and their dances should therefore have more credence.

Letitia is awesome I hope she gets at least to the semis, I think they are a great partnership and have some talent and along with Gethin have inproved greatly and thats what this isall about

Personally, I think Gethin, Kelly, Matt, Alesha or Letitia could win. I love John and he is doing better - if he continues to 'grow' then he too could be included in the number. Kenny has no sense of rhythm (something even he acknowledges) and it's difficult to teach that to someone. It's usually inherent or it isn't! Although he obviously is enjoying himself and that comes across well. Having no real favourites I don't mind who wins, just as long as they all continue to entertain.
Because this is, in actual fact, an 'entertainment' show. If it were merely a 'dance' contest, we would not be exhorted to 'vote for our favourites' and the numbers put up from Sunday onwards to vote for dances we have not even seen yet!
The fact that people who could actually dance have won over the last few years may also be down to how joyous and entertaining those dances were! (Because a really good dance is pure entertainment. Think Fred and Ginger, think Gene Kelly. They were not just dancers; they were also entertainers and their dancing was pure joy and entertainment).

What cash cow? The BBC can't keep any money for itself from the voting - half goes to CiN and the other half to paying for the system to be run by what I believe is an external company.

I always think Kelly's okay and then she opens her mouth...
Just not my kind of person I'm afraid. Her jive was a bit lacking in substance, there was a bit in the middle where Brendan was "flicking" around her and all she was doing was turning round. Not that I'm a huge fan of Jill Halfpenny either... but it wasn't a patch on it.

if you look carefuly at the shots towards the back of the studio you notice that the upstairs stops abruptly and doesn't go round the corners and along the back as normal, but you're right, other that that its pretty similar!
