Getting Serious?

Spoiler
OK, so the two most inconsistent dancers (I'm nice) are Kenny and John. So, If tonight's spoiler is true - then isn't it a fair bet that as John's on a stronger dance, Kenny will go out next week?

Beacham: you really need to put a spoiler warning in the thread title, or you will get dropped on from a great height by those as don't want to be spoiled...

(and possibly put spoiler tags round what you have posted, too)

Spoiler
(Though I think you may be right - but we'll see. And we'll see if the result is confirmed, first, too....!)

I didn't post a spoiler, darling! but if you think so, I've done a spoiler post now.

It wouldn't be so hard to guess from your post what had happened! Trust me - I have seen it in previous weeks - those who don't want to be spoiled are not kind to those who (by accident or design) post things that tell them the result - or indeed give them the slightest clue!

I'm not being funny - just don't want you to end up getting jumped on!!

You reckon, i can read from your hints who's gone, i don't care, if i did i wouldn't be on the forum at any point before tonights programme, but i'm warning you as i was nearly fried for a similar mistake last week, be careful.

Definitely worth doing! or at least not worth not doing!

nearly fried is about right!

Spoiler
FWIW I think you may be right... but it depends on Kenny's popular vote (which he seems to have a lot of) - if John ends up bottom two with someone else his days could be numbered... but if his Latin is excellent then who knows what may happen!

I've only just recovered from last weeks mauling, as much as i love strictly, i did have to wander about the fanaticism of some of the folks here.

Did I suggest which 2 may not have gone out? One of them may have done!!! And didn't suggest that the spoiler was true either. McCarthy witch hunt springs to mind. Did I say who went out? Did I suggest who went out? Read my original post either way....

You need to see it from the point of view of people who don't know tonight's result. My post wasn't a spoiler.

No look ...
Spoiler
you are implying that john and kenny have got through so yes that is a spoiler to people who don't want to know who stayed and who left
sarah-flute

Beacham - seriously... people get very het up about this, and I and others are basically just trying to help.

You may not consider it a spoiler, but that would not necessarily stop some posters from getting mighty narked off about it.

I'm not one of them - I badly want to know for sure who went out (I always do!). But I and others are just trying to make sure YOU don't get on the wrong side of those people. K?

Anyway, enough said - you've posted in spoiler tags and no one will have to read it unless they want to. Exiting the thread!

Spoiler
No, I suggested that Kenny and John are the most inconsistent of dancers. The most consistent could be Alesha, Kate, or Kelly!

Well, you need to see the Anyone at Tonight's Show thread then! Any mention of a spoiler there?? You think my thread was a spoiler? No wonder you give up - if you've got any objective logic!

Oh look do you have any sense
In your thread title it is a question indicting nothing of tonight performances
The people who use this forum have common sense and realise a thread asking if anyone is there will offcourse have spoilers in it

Thats it i'm bored now and going to bed

And as peach says we really were trying to help you

Spoiler
The thread didn't start as a spoiler or was intended to become such. Within a very few posts of the start of the thread it would be obvious of its intention - and pages before anything spoiler-y was posted.

Even the title - I mean, what's the usual reason people want to know if someone has been to the show??! (whereas your title gives no hint or warning of the fact it contains potentially spoling info) The OP actually tried to change the title of the thread to put a spoiler in, but was too far beyond the time one can edit one's post.

Because of this, another thread was actually started specifically to point out that there might be spoilers in it! Basically, every effort was made (and spoiler tags used within the body of the thread by many though not all) that no one who didn't want to know the result would stumble accidentally on it.

If you want to post spoilers or near spoilers then on your own head be it. The posts in this thread have basically ALL been intended to stop someone having a right go at you for spoiling them, not some kind of witch hunt!

Your post does strongly hint at who might have gone out to anyone who knows the scores and the tendency for weaker dancers to start getting voted out around now - especially with your hint in the post that you know who is possibly out. A spoiler is not just "so and so was out" - believe me, I have more than once seen people really cyber-yelled at for posting much less than you have (or just using spoiler tags in the "wrong" threads - seriously!!)

McCarthy witch hunt is a pretty good description of how got at some people have been for unintentionally spoiling others. It is NOT why people responded to this thread in the way they did. I and others were trying to stop it happening to YOU!

So please, take it how it was meant - to stop others flying off the handle at you!! *headdesk* We were trying to be nice!

Spoiler
Thanks for your advice, sarah-flute. I still don't see it, so must be really stupid, because suggesting who might still be in may be a spoiler. Particularly without knowing for sure the result for most people. It could have been Alesha out tonight - or Kelly! My post would still have held water. But, I'll steer clear next week, and just view instead of posting.

Thanks.

Don't stay away, it's your board as much as anyones, i guess if you're fairly new it's about learning the etiquette, if you don't want to upset anyone.

Thanks peach, darling, but I'll probably stick to topics where I can be sure of safe ground. Sorry if I offended anyone, it wasn't intentional. Promise

Hi Beacham......I too was cyber-bashed for hinting that Kelly had survived a few weeks ago......No names mentioned ...just a hint.I think 99.99% of us that were sat at our computers last night wanted to know the result and therefor have no issue with this thread. However many members are very vocal when they surf this forum and find the slightest hint as to who may or may not have been eliminated. So Sarah-flute and others are not having a go at you but others who do not want to know the result would most definitely have cyber-bashed you for dropping the slightest of hints. As I said at the outset, I along with several other members have made genuine mistakes and in my opinion have been on the receiving end of some pretty nasty cyber-attacks. Personally I feel the only way to not discover who was eliminated is to stay away from SCD related sites....sad; but thats realistically the only safe option.....Best wishes and keeeep posting.
