CREATIVE Zen
desert
18-11-2007
I am considering buying a CREATIVE Zen beacause they look like good value for money. However I see complaints about videos not playing because of convertors etc. I have x-vid videos which I normally convert with PSP Video 9. Does anyone think these will play?

Thank you all in advance.

Creative Zen has native support for DivX 5 and XviD. However mine did not play when I transferred them directly - I THINK because the resolution was too high (DVD res XviDs I had).

The software supplied by Creative will convert them to WMVs that do play - the process is fairly automatic. Normally I just use the convertor I got with my Archos Gmini 400 several years ago that uses which acts as a front-end to Virtual Dub and this lowers the resolution to slightly less than the 320x240 screen of the ZEN and these play fine.

A 45 minute show is complete in about 15-20 minutes (speed of your PC dependant - mine is 5 years old).
