Hello everyone, I want a 60 inch Plasma but haven't got a bottomless pit but will borrow to get the right one.

I have a wall that is screaming out for a big fookoff plasma!

Trouble is the gap between the ceiling and the fireplace (not really used the fire) is 40cm.

Please recommend me a decent, good-priced screen please.

Thanks in advance

Either you've mistyped a value?, or you're completely bonkers?

If you've only got a 40cm vertical space you might try a 15 inch portable?.

Just measured my 19 inch 4:3 computer monitor, that would just squeeze in as well.

Yeah, sorry about that. It's roughly 100cm/40inch.

Though some would argue I am bonkers

Cheers

what Hi-Fi mag this month have done a review from wee tellys to huge like yours

£1500 samsung PS50Q97HDX

£1800 panasonic TH-50PX70 ( they reckon better than £3000 th50pz700 )

samsung PS-50Q7HD £2200

fujitsu P50HXA58EB £2895

pioneer PDP-508XD £3000

pioneer PDP-LX508D £3700

now roughly they work it £1800 telly not as good as a £2800 telly but they will tell you to get a cheaper telly if they think its over priced

viewing distance comes into it and dont discount 46" tellys as a lot more of them sell and you will possibly get higher specs ( 3 hdmi sockets, 1080 p not i ) for your money

You haven't mentioned how far you're sitting from your TV. Apart from the normal factor of TV size against distance you're putting your TV in the worst possible place above a fireplace where unless you're sitting 20' away is likely to give you a crick in the neck.
