Can we please start a petition and get Anton a brilliant partner next year - I feel so sorry for him each series and think it's high time he had somebody half decent!!!

I agree. It's only fair, everybody else has their chance and Anton seem never have any.

I think he is part of the problem. His latin really isn't great which means he would hold back any partner doing the latin dances. Also his own style makes him suited to certain type of people. Can you imagine him with Kelly or Alesha? It just wouldn't work and he would be holding them back.

And me. Please give Anton a partner able and willing to join in with the choreography. That'd be just lovely!!

Let me ask you this : how would you know someone is a good partner before the practicing starts ?
Being 3rd in the 1st series with Lesley was a fluke, because Lesley has a perfect musical ear and the standard wasn't as high.
Anton may be as unhansome as Fred Astair, but he certainly can't dance like him.

He came 5th with Patsy. What's wrong with that?

He deserves a good partner.

I agree with you here. He seems to gel better with ladies of a certain age. I don't like him much to be honest and I don't think the powers that be know in advance who will be good (Darren Gough for example). Just let it continue as it is now, it works fine for me

Anton certainly derves a "better" partner for next year. Quite how you would know who will be good is another thing entirely.

What would be your criteria for a good partner for Anton? Age? personality? Charisma?

I'm in too.

Beeb, please give Anton a turn of getting one of the celebs who had been taught dance before.

Well Stephanie Beecham may not have been a wonderful dancer, but I think she and Anton would have made a better couple for the ballroom, and they would have been such fun, and nowhere near as pathetic, as he and Kate were!

Those who have commented on Antons latin ability are absolutely correct. He is really bad at all the latin dances, and if he had a really able dancer, would be the one holding them back as a couple. As he cannot dance them properly himself, he has no chance of teaching a celeb.

Also, as already said, how do you know who is good in advance? If we are looking at older partners, Darren and Vincent have had much older ladies like Anton, but Ian, James, Matt and Brendan haven't so perhaps I could see an argument for one of those dancers having the "older lady" rather than Anton. But other than that, I think it is "pot luck" whether they turn out to have any dance ability.

I don't class being in 30s or early 40s as old myself!

Maybe the BBC thought they had given him a good partner when they paired him with Kate(relatively young and the ideal physique)........you don`t know what your partner is going to be like until you start training. There was know certainty that Mark R would shine last year........or even Kelly or Alesha this year.

A sportsgirl would be good as a partner for Anton. Or someone like Kelly who has had dance lessons. Hasn't it turned out that Alesha has had some too?

He had a good partner in Patsy. I loved them two together.
I will sign the petition, though as he has had a bit of a rough deal.
Hopefully next year he'll get a good 'un.

I think Anton does best if he has a challenging partner. And I think his strongest point is the fact that he can work with them and make them better. He is a top Englishman, and at the very least, he and Kate had a sincere good relationship.

About time too!
Anton more than deserves a decent standard of partner, he deserves to lift that trophy! You can deffo. count me in for signing a petition for Anton.

Now Im not Anton knocking - those who know me know I dont like him but havent posted much on Anton this year at all.

But in all honesty with Antons Latin skills it would be difficult for him to win the show no matter how good a partner he had - not being nasty it is just a fact

Well a good starting point would be someone else with a perfect musical ear...
