Media player to replace XBMC
Zordon
18-11-2007
I am currently using XBMC for standard def, and XBOX 360 FOR HD files, i have to convert all my HD content (normally MKV) to WMV which is a real pain.

So i am currently looking for a reasonable all in one solution, I could go with a media pc, however i don't really want to go down this route.

Main things i require.

Full HD support
HDMI
MKV suport
Work with windows shares (I use w2k3 so UPNP support with WMP is no use)

Currently i am considering a Netgear EVA8000, mkv support is available with beta firmware.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Look at the Dvico TViX M5100SH.

mkv support out of the box, lan or usb.

Connects to four shares,
or,
you can plug two usb devices into the back,
and,
you can pop a sata harddrive inside it.

if you want to wait the M6500 might be out in Jan 08
