Weren't they just brilliant?

She was so controlled, what must they be thinking when they see the celebs

Their routine was wel executed,..but unfortunately it didn't do much for me. It's funny,...GRH and Arlene always going on about the rumba and the connection between the dancers,...
I have to say that I saw none whatsoever between them two. I found it very uninspiring.

Very impressive certainly BUT for me a bit like listening to a great opera singer....I can appreciate that it's good but it doesn't really open my parachute.

Looked to me like a lot of 'posing': look at me, see how fast I spin and suddenly come to a standstill and poooose.. hmm

Although I'm sure they were technically great I found their dancing to be a little manic and unnatural looking (i.e. over-exaggerated finishes) for my liking (but then I'm just an average joe clueless about ballroom kind of fan).

Ok don't beat me up, but I really wasn't inspired by it at all. It just didn't do anything for me

I dont dispute they are good, but they have never been my cup of tea

Those silly gimmicks. When he pulled her 'skirt' off, I thought, oh dear don't tell me he's stripping as well and I was holding by vomit in my mouth till the end of the dance.

Can't enjoy it. Can't enjoy the pro dance last year as well (the show dance when it was more like acrobatics - so vulgar).

Didnt Bruce, or was it Tess, say they were the world number one latin champions?

I thought Bryan and Carmen were the World Number One??

Or was I watching something else in May in Blackpool that they won??

Me too - as I was watching them I kept reminding myself they are the best in the world but...it just didn't light my fire and as for the Bucks Fizz moment

I said in the other thread, sorry but it was all just too staccato for my liking. I'm sure it was technically excellent, but it didn't float my boat either.

Couldn't agree more!

B&C have retired and now M&J are quite rightly, world number ones and I think they are fabulous. Yes, our pro's are amazing but M&J are in a different league to some of them.

Bryan and Carmen have just retired so now Michael and Joanna are the NO 1 on form

Lol I was so disapointed that it wasn't Bryan and Carmen Like others have said I really hated the gimmicks it ruined the whole thing for me although they are amazing to be fair.

I for one thought it was fantastic, amazing...I could just sit here and list a load of similar adjectives but won't bore you all with that. You get the idea. Like VikkiKaplinsky said, they really are in another league.

I know Bryan and Carmen have retired (I was there when they announced it) but dont they technically have the title until May? or do I have they completely wrong?

well yes they are reigning world champions but on current form and status Michael and Joanna are the current best in the world

As they said on SCD the best in the world they didnt say world champions

ok my mistake was expecting Bryan and Carmen!!!!

I thought it was very boring and agree with all of the other criticisms so far. Where was the connection between them? Gethin must be wondering just exactly where he went wrong if these are the No.1s and he was criticized for not showing enough emotion.

Everything was perfect, but it felt very robotic to me, and the skirt thing was just embarrassing - like Colin and Erin the other year.

There was one point when she was holding onto the waistband of his trousers and I half-expected a Full Monty moment!

Much preferred the second half. To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of the rumba and was heard to say when they came on "they've got the world champions and they're doing the sodding rumba!". I found the costume changes a little gimmicky - the kind of thing you'd expect from a couple who weren't particularly good and were trying to distract. Unfair, possibly, but that's my taste. Found the second half much better.

I said that too! Couldn't believe the world champions and the best they could come up with was a rather cold Rumba. The Samba was marginally better but I wasn't overly impressed with either.
