She thinks the judges are now getting a bit 'itchy' because they want to see 'wow' dances and haven't yet.
She said a lot of who wins now is down to the professionals and whether they can come up with amazing choreography that will surprise the audience every week.

She also mentioned that her husband was annoyed that the judges didn't mention Kate's beautiful hands.
And Ian was on just before talking about the beatbullying campaign and Penny was on GMTV talking about the same thing.
I'm surprised Karen didn't mention Gethin as he's the only one out of the 5 non-sportsmen who hasn't had any dance training. If anything he's more of a sportsman with his rugby, etc. so it's really 3 sportsmen and 4 artists.

For me Gethin is the anomaly. To all intents and purposes he fits within the fit, athletic sportsman role, and yet he has music training - in fact only Alesha would have more experience in music. Not that this has been mentioned - he's been portrayed along the lines of the sportsman (cf intimacy problems with Mark last year, not giving a performance like the 'artists') but it does give him an advantage over, for example, Kenny who couldn't hear the beat to begin with.
I think they were rushed for time.

I don't think she actually all the artistes have dance experience. Gethin, as you said, is an exception. But she said they had some kind of 'stage' experience, perhaps meaning they are not as 'shy' or less able to 'perform' than the sportsmen.

I don't understand the programme's view every year that it is all harder for sportspeople. Sportspeople are fit, agile, graceful, used to thinking with their bodies, used to competition, used to training - why should that give them a disadvantage? I know Kenny has issues that give him problems with rhythm, and John has the realities of his age affecting his back and shoulders, but I don't think the fact that they're sportspeople is their problem in either case. If Len had said to Dom, 'You're a TV presenter, you make your living sitting and talking, it's amazing you can do the cha cha' I'd have understood that more.
There are bigger advantages than dance training. Look how good-looking all the seven couples left in are. I think previous experience matters at the beginning but it all evens out by now - the key unknown ingredient is do they work as a couple, and no previous experience can make a difference there.

Just checked youtube clip - I think it confirms what I say above.
Without mentioning Gethin, she set the scene where Gethin was the only one with the "whole package". A performer with a sports mentality - able to dig deep when the going gets tough. I wonder whether she thinks he has the talent to win SCD.

If Kenny goes this week then technically i think we have six really good dancers left (John moreso in latin then ballroom).
To be honest i think when it comes down to Letitia. Matt. Alesha, kelly and gethin who goes out will really depend on the dance that night rather then anything else which makes the show far more exciting.

If she doesn't , then Erin does .
He has Grade 8 piano and violin to almost the same level and coming from the background he does , would be likely to have had considrable performing experience in school . I could , in fact, confirm that , but it is an assumption based on my own knowledge

On paper, Gethin has it all, a presenter (for kids programme when apparently he has to strip all the time for 'challenges') and does very well in sports (football and rugby???). According to John Borrowman he can sing (I have a feeling all Welsh people are musical - and he plays piano and violin???)
So he's like a Kelly (presenting, model?)-Alesha (singing, performing)-Kenny (rugby)-John (football) all put together.
But his first few weeks of performance left me wondering 'what's wrong with him - surely he can do better than THAT???' kinda feeling.
Then there was the breakthrough in his technically challenging and beautifully performed VW (his foxtrot was a warm performance too though technically less competent). His rhumba was surprisingly quite good and I agreed with Arlene when he 'got into it' in the second half of the dance, I actually felt something I thought a male celeb would never be able to do in a rhumba.
There is A LOT of potential for Camilla to tap into. She's cracked the ballroom with Gethin, and I think she's getting there with latin as well.
That PLUS he's very good-looking, mummy wants him to be their son or son-in-law (cue in Stephanie Beecham!!!
), women drooled over his quizzical (left) eyebrow, children love him (and probably little girls have crush on him), that's like, 75% of the voting audience???HE's the force to be reckoned with...
