I'd never heard of this service till this weekend, when in the space of 10 minutes I recieved 3 calls asking to accept a call.
BT nuisance calls seemed aware this was issue nad said it was BT but another commercial company and in affect needed to pay not to recieve a 'service' I hadn't requested.
On checking the 0800 Reverse website it states it has an agreement with BT, I assume that's a commercial contract. Therefore BT make money from users of the service and those who don't wish to have the 'service'.
The cost of accepting one of these calls is £3.48p plus a call charge of 50p a minute. There was no indication of this when asked to accept a reverse call.
I was told the service is automated, so how can the service moniter a caller has given a 'name' as required by the terms and conditions. None of the calls I recieved gave a name (I had more the following day).
Amazingly in the Terms & Conditions if a person accepts one of these calls that person is responsible for what the caller says, even if it is an abusive call.
What with cold callers, silent calls you would have thought how this service could be misused. At least there should be a free 0800 number available to cancel this service.
