Hi,

Could someone please tell me if Clouding is primarily a Sony problem or does the same thing happen with other LCD TV?

Seem to keep running into you Nigel!

The "Clouding" issue has been mentioned on several reviews of Bravia LCDs (see, for example, http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Sony-KDL40W2000/)
and is essentially areas of "non-uniform black" - seen most easily with no input signal. Sony themselves have an answer to this point here where they say it is due to the very bright backlights used to create the vivid images on Bravia TVs.

I can see it slightly on my new KDL40X2000 and I wondered if I should complain - but it is slight and I have got used to it. It is the one area where plasmas apparently excell!
