I am withe onebill for my landline and Tiscali provide me with broadband.

I applied to Tiscali to have them supply both services as I would save quite a bit of cash each month.

Tiscali said yep, everything was being processed and they would deal with the switch from onebill.

That was two weeks ago and as I hadn't heard anything at all, I phoned Tisacali and was told that onebill wouldn't let me switch because of the LLU(?)

I then phoned onebill and was told that there was no problem and they had marked today for the switch.

I phoned Tiscali and they said that it was impossible to switch and cited the LLU again.

I phoned Onebill again and they said that what Tiscali said was wrong as similar switches happen every day so Tiscali are lying.

One or both of these companies have lied and misled.
I thought that in a free market I would be allowed to switch from one company to another without fuss.

Why was I not told all this a couple of weeks ago by both companies instead of them both pretending that everything was going ahead?

Am I really stuck with having Onebill as my landline service provider and therefore not able to save money by going elsewhere and have a broadband/landline package, or can I somehow ditch a company that has lied to me?

And who'll be first to say it's BT's fault?
