It is a great phone if a little big bigger than my old one. Some great features though.

Hi,

The samsung G800 is already out on Vodafone yes. You can get it as part of an upgrade or new connection.

Hi, I must say that I'm not convinced with the camera myself. It does not seem to take pictures worthy of a 5 megapixel camera. My old Sharp 903 take better pics using a 3.2 megapixel camera. The flash is not that great either.

Just contacted O2 about the release of this phone as I had heard it was due out today.
I was told that no new handsets will be released on O2 until January. Are they doing this cos they expect everyone to buy an iPhone instead???
I think we might see some customers moving from O2 to Vodafone to get this phone before Christmas.

Does anyone know if the Samsung g800 allows you to assign your own mp3s to alarms ot text message alerts, or are you forced to use those already on the handset? I know that on previous Samsung handsets, you could only use the inbuilt sounds. the only part you could customise was the ringtone.

does anyone know if i can get this on pay as you go? i want to get this for my brother christmas.
my mum picked me up a vodafone catalogue two days ago and i had a look through it and saw the g800 but it said at the bottom that the price was £300 and pay as you go, but of course with these things you just never know.

can't wait till the f700 comes out

Hi,

I have this phone and yes you can set up ringtones as wake up alarms.

When you go to the alarm entry and you have the options in there to choose time etc, if you scroll down to 'Alert Type' and select 'Melody', then the next option for 'Alarm Tone' you choose which track from your 'music' folder on your phone. Once you've chosen the track you want, you click 'save'.

You can only use the phones own tones for message alerts on this phone though.

ItHasPotential, No you can't get the Samsung G800 on pay as you talk from Vodafone yet but you can check on the website by clicking here for pay as you devices.

Hope this helps!
