Do you pay extra for beauty items with nice packaging?

We're all going to be buying lots of lovely cosmetic and beauty items this party season, just in time for Christmas...

But does the packaging really matter?

Do you think it's worth spending that little bit extra for sexy wrapping and branding?

Are you a lover of Boots basics or more of a luxurious Benefits type?

What do you think...

No i normally refuse to buy the cheap stuff (rimmel, collection 2000 anything like that), i normally go for Lacome, Chanel, Clarins etc. However, No.7 have started doing some very good stuff over the past year and i have found myself using some of their products along with all my expensive stuff.
The skin on your face is precious and delicate - i won't put any old crap on it!

I buy if I like the colour/feeling/appliciblity of the product...don't give a rat's behind what the packaging looks like.

Sometimes i do, but then i kick myself because i know i paid extra just for fancy wrapping. I do spend more money on foundation and mascara though, not because of the packaging, just cause like the previous lady said, your skin (and eyelashes) are precious and delicate.
I like Estee Lauder for mascara, i am tempted to try the too faced lash extensions though.

Yes, to an extent. I would rather pay an extra couple of pounds for nicer packaging. It's like buying Natural Collection instead of Collection 2000!

I'm a bit of a brand snob when it comes to make up and skincare, even though I'm not with other stuff (actually that's a lie, I am with food too. Ok, maybe with a few things).

Also, once I've used a good product, I can't bear to go back to a cheap one, even if I have no money. Eg as a teenager I'd spend a few pounds on a mascara. Then I went up to a £7 Max Factor one. Now I spend about £18 on a Lancome one. I dread to think what's next...

It is nice to have a make up bag full of beautiful things but what's most important is that the products work and don't damage my skin.
