Hi all

I am toying with the idea of getting the Panasonic PZ70 42" Plasma to replace my trusty old Sony 32" CRT.

Does anyone reading this actually have this tv and if so, what do you think of it? What do you think of the way it handles SD Freeview from the built in tuner? SD images are my main concern, but this set looked quite reasonable for displaying freeview.

Also: Can you do me a favour if you have one? Can you measure the height of it, including the table top standl?

Many thanks for any help

Height is 688mm. We have this set running next to the 42px70 in the shop on SkyHD and on freeview. To be honest there is not much difference between the 2 sets on either source. I assume that the pz will step upto the plate a bit more if running a 1080p source, I'll have to hook it up some time.

Thanks for the info.....

I visited a specialist shop today to check out the PX70 (42")and to be honest I was really disappointed with the freeview picture. It seemed very "smudgy" and quite blurred and generally not as sharp as the PZ70. The shop told me that it was set up as it should be, so I just wondered why the big SD freeview image difference?

Others, like yourself, have told me there is very little difference certainly not on SD - in fact I was advised that the freeview image was a little sharper on the PX70??

I am confused. Perhaps the shop didn't have this PX70 set up correctly???

They may only have ahd the pz in stock as the px has been a bit short this month. Also the Pz is more expensive and earns the salesman more £'s at the end of the month.
Go back and play with the settings yourself to make sure they are setup the same. I do this in front of all our customers so they can see the sets are running in the same manner.
The 42px70 has been a fantastic seller this year for us as has the 37". So far the hype on 1080p hasn't quelled this interest when they are sat next to each other..
