Has he tried selecting different sources ? Ie AV1 AV2 etc. he should then pick up his Sky. If he is on the initial set up screen unless he has an aerial plugged in he will not be able to "tune it in"
But Sky through Scart or HDMI should still be available. Hope this helps |

Is he using the RF output of the Sky box? If so have a look to see which channel the box is outputting.
Press Services, then 4 0 1 Select, then RF outputs. This will give the RF channel number which can be changed if necessary. Other than that, is there a menu selection on the TV for country or region? Check this is set to UK. |

![]() It's obviously difficult with second hand information, but it sounds more like he doesn't know what he's doing, than an actual fault?. |

I think you are correct!!
OK - the TV does not recognise the HDMI from PS3. He has a dvd & the PS3 working (altho' not in HD) but has not yet managed to suss out how to get any TV signal ![]() I have told him to go back to scratch - turn it all off, take all the leads out, clean them (as they were dust-covered when removed from old set!) and follow the hand book instructions! BTW the HDMI lead was a new purchase with the TV. If all else fails he wants to get an TV engineer round ( @£40 per hour) to sort it out

maybe he might be able to get more help in the sky forums as the issue here seems to be he is using the eye for a signal to his tv

Success! All working beautifully now
The prob was the HDMI lead had been connected to the TV but to nothing else when he tried to tune in. So, after many many trials & errors he started from scratch, then when the HDMI lead was connected to the PS3 it recognised it and Sky was tuned in, but it came in at the high end and it took a little patience ![]() Thanx to you all for trying to help

Well the problems continued and every time the TV was turned off it lost all the settings and only came back after turning ON/OFF over a period of hours!
![]() Anyway - Hannspree have now taken that TV away & delivered a brand new one - which has no problems and is working fine! |

Thins it is great value for a low cost. Picture etc 99% perfect. Without adjusting the picture channels it has slight loss of black in the very bottom of picture - which can be rectified.
Seems to be the problems are with TV's that are pre Sept '07 Would recommend for anyone on a limited budget!
