Movietyme has a few deals on just now, both dawn of the dead and shaun of the dead are £8.99 each
I have tried purchasing them but cant get them to accept my card details, they have some new mastercard secure code system on it. Does anyone know if you need to sign up to it?

I had to sign up to Verified by Visa (when I had a Visa) but I don't recall ever signing upto the Mastercard version of secondary security for using my current credit card on any site.

I was away to ordered blood diamond, wyatt earp and we were soldiers, all $20 each, so came to £20 plus £10 p+p, so £10 per film I think i am going to pass on it.

There are times Amazon are cheaper but it's still a gamble on duty and vat, even BOGOF has screwed up since they have for some included the full price for 2 or more disks on the packaging.

I got a custom charge it seems anything over £18 and they add this on the customs people opened my package and re sealed with a red label sticker explaining it.

Only if they physically stop the package and as you can imagine with thousands coming in a day they probably cherry pick parcels from certain sources which they know will not be customs friendly.

Anything with Amazon on it coming from the US will have the price paid (barring the BOGOF snafu) unlike other US online dealers who are happy to mark the price below £18 or make other shipping arrangments.

It's pretty well just random luck - I've only been caught once by it, and that wasn't on the the most expensive things I've bought from the States. I was charged Import Duty, VAT, and a charge from the PO for collecting the money!

It's the risk you take!.

Incidently, it's why Play.com (in Jersey) dispatch all DVD individually to keep the parcel value below the threshold where they don't bother checking.
