marksut
22-11-2007
i was talking to a rep from hitachi today and he was trying to explain the ALIS panel to me. Can someone please explain if this is of any benifit to a plasma display? Of course he was beaming brightly about this saying its a hitachi only product but has/is this in any other pdp of lcd?
Is it any good?

The ALiS panel has been used by brands other than Hitachi but it's never made a big impact compared to the "traditional" cell structure plasma which is used by Panasonic, Pioneer, LG etc etc.

Perhaps it's a marketing thing in terms of the standard panel resolution (1024*1024) although "FullHD" are on the market or simply the fact even a rep has to try to explain how it works
They are considered to have a longer half life and use less energy to produce a picture thanks to their screen structure but as with all display technology what is one persons view on PQ may not be the next persons.
