Found a few - correction about the background dancers (must have been something else that I saw).

http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=ifBqu0R3qtQ

Rather amusing. They do a lot of lifts, regardless of what the dances are. There is no such rule in China, apparently...

I could not see on wiki that China's version is one of the franchises. Copyright issue perhaps?

There did seem to be extra dancers at the start of their routine (was it supposed to be a tango?)

I know what you mean, don't worry! Why the girl thought it was a great move to wriggle up and down her partner's body in a tango is beyong me!!

I know Hanna appeared in one of the shows, but didn't they also have Serena Lecca on there at one point as well? And doesn't Espen Salberg judge it? Wow. This is so my kind of show!

Many thanks for posting. I lost the address of this great site.

lmao... that sure was interesting!

This is my favourite dance from NZs last series, not because it was good... it was just hugely entertaining if you know what I mean

and on another note... we're allowed to do lifts as well.

You can see all dances of the Dutch Dancing With The Stars on the videopage of its website. Here you can watch clips of all the dances of this years edition. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the dances from seasons (seizoen) one and two.

Season one was won by Idols runner-up and now musical-star Jim Bakkum and the lovely Julie Fryer, with TV-presenter and former model Irene van der Laar and the gorgeous Marcus van Teylingen in second place. Olympic gold medalist swimmer Inge de Bruyn became third with Remco Bastiaansen.

Season two was won by Olympic speedskater Barbara de Loor and the aforementioned Marcus van Teylingen. Runners-up were soapactor Winston Post and his partner Euvgenia Parakhina, with TV-presenter Frits Sissing and Julie Fryer in third place.

This year's edition was won by weather woman Helga van Leur and Marcus van Teylingen (two years in a row for him). This was a bit of a surprise, because runners-up Christophe Haddad (soap actor) and his partner Ilse Lans had a very high standard throughout the series. But Helga and Marcus had the 'journey'. Julie Fryer was not in this series because she was pregnant.

PM me if you have any questions or problems with the language. Glad to be of service .

Much as I love watching Candy and Brendan dancing, I would also love to see the pro's do a dance each week.

I know! And ones with decent choreo!
I think we had one last season didn't we? A samba or something at the beginning of the season?
And then at the end that really camp number which involved CRH & Jason (&Candy??) singing lol.

I want a regular demo every week.

(P.S -nice to see another kiwi on here! where do you regular? I think I recognise the name but I may be having deja vu lol)

Thanks for the info and link.

Can you tell me which dancer on the Dutch show used to be the amateur dance partner of Louis van Amstel who was a Pro in DWTS in America? I know they competed at the time of David Sycamore and Denise Weavers. Many Thanks.

Unfortunately people who don't watch Strictly regularly, or know about him, often refer to Brendan as "that Australian dancer off the telly", and I always say, "no! he's a kiwi!"

Just to be clear - he was never on the Dutch Dancing With The Stars, but he was Julie Fryer's (professional) partner for years. He moved to the States a couple of years ago, which explains why he was in the American version of the show.

Latin (showdance) champions Koen Brouwers and Roemjana de Haan are also on the show. I don't know that much about international ballroom dancing, but I thought I read somewhere they are quite well known outside The Netherlands.

Hi mcfrannigan

I'm only on here very rarely - have posted a couple of times in the Brendan Cole thread (a couple of NZ articles for the Brendan fans) and on the James Jordan - Yes Please! thread. James and Ola are my favourite professional couple, and I love Matthew Cutler's dancing also.

We definitely need the NZ professionals to perform regular demo's, not just the occasional one. I'm certainly getting tired of the Candy Lane Dancers routines, unless they decide to pair the CLD's with male partners and perform ballroom or latin demo's each week - I could probably tolerate the CLD's then!

I would love it if DWTS NZ introduced a couple of new dances - American Smooth, Argentine Tango or Salsa - even if they did them as the group dance instead of the Viennese Waltz to introduce the dance to the audience.

cheers
Shelley
