Watch out for 2 light scratches of the screen that cannot be vissable when the unit is switched on when you buy things from ebay.

I have sky hd and you will need to route through your dvd rec, connect one scart to the rec and the other scart from the rec to the tv. As I have HD I use the hdmi sockets.

The second one is better only because you can write to both DVD+ and DVD-

That is my bugbear! I got my LG when DVD- was predominant format and its a nuisance!!!
I have to look at the discs and in shops there are often piles of DVD where you happen to get the one wrong type mixed in with the ones you need!

Yeah, 2 scart sockets and other connections too.

There's two ways of connecting them up, one way where you connect Sky box up like you would to a VCR, or the other way where you connect the TV from the Sky box to the RGB AV input of the DVD recorder, so you have a better quality picture to record with.

My set up is so complicated you need a degree in micro electronics to operate the DVD!
I have a portable TV with one SCART, but use Sky digibox, Cable Decoder, and DVD recorder! All linked by SCART.
I daisy chain the SKY and the cable so that they both go to the TV when you switch on either the one you have just switched on it is given priority, They are also run into a switching box, which you have to manually switch to view the DVD. The DVD can record from any device without switching...

Yeah, I have several devices and need to daisy chain some too.

I have a Sky box, a Dreambox satellite receiver, a Pace HD satellite receiver, a Cable TV box, a DVD/HDD recorder, I did have another DVD recorder, Freeview box and a VCR in there too, but moved them.
