Icaro actually had a great voice, he wasn't shown in the edits with what he really sang.
He was another case of "shown for laughs" , instead of his real talent...

I think he shouted a lot Antal. Difficult to say if he was as good...

I have seen a BBC Wales interview with him and he said he wasn't shown singing the good songs that put him through up to the last elimination round, only the bits where he wasn't that good.
I have also listened to a sample someone put on YT and he was very good there. Better than some that made it through, TBH.
Not saying he was the best, but he had potential
...a sweet tone to his voice and he was cute...He has potential.
And is very likeable.

That's a huge shame then. He did have a pretty powerful voice.
Maybe they were wondering between him and Rhyd, Rhyd won obviously in those stakes though, if that was the case.

Leon cannot sing Gypsy. Eventually, if I say it enough, you will accept it and see the truth. I can only hope.

You forgot to do the 'IMO' bit...it always helps when people are in polite disagreement, don't you think.
Let me work this out....you think that Icaro can sing and that Leon cannot....hmmmm? You think I need to accept the truth?

That is, from what I have been told, the case.
Andrea Rhyder was another one they eliminated because of similarities.
As you have probably gathered, they try to bring different "styles" into the live shows.
With Icaro, they felt it would be too much of a similar act to Rhydian. Andrea, from what I gathered, cracked under the pressure of singing non-operatic song. ( correct me if I got it wrong
).Therefore, Icaro had no chance , especially because he wasn't in Simon's category

As this is an Appreciation thread, it would be the only way forward.
Icaro has been fun to watch, I had a smile on my face at his audition ( from which a lot has been edited
) and I was confident he will be getting through, because the judges comments ( behind the version that has been seen ) were very favorable.

We can all have different opinions
And it's always nice to have reminder now and then...when you watch Icaro's audition back you can tell what a wonderful quality he has to his voice . And with no instrumentation at all.
I heard he is auditioning again.Whether this is the right way to go or not, time will tell.I think he has been offered some work allready.
