The Humax web pages clearly state the 3 satellites, and steps to do it. Also web/PC download upload with an RS232, which ofcourse I dont have..”

That's for a satellite receiver! OTA update does work over digital terrestrial transmissions for digital terrestrial receivers

Yes. Presumably you have the auto-update disabled, or you would have been upgraded already.

Check here for the schedule of OTA upgrades: http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/download_schedule.pl

How many have moved to v21. Any improvements, or additional bugs??”

Definitely worth it.

Go here http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/update/ and download the new user manual and addendum.

If you register with a real email address they should send you a notification of when the next repeat of the .21 update is due.

Thanks.”

It seems to miss recordings, or only record 2 mins and delete some programs from the recording list on a random basis.

Sometimes misses the end and/or start of programs.

Some problems are due to the wrong signals being sent out, but some are not.

Also there seem to be an increasing number of reports of HDD file corruption lately and people needing to format their drives.

But if the original poster continues to use the auto-padding that he was using previously, none of these problems occur.

And with the version 1.00.21 software, there is the VERY WORTHWHILE improvement of the EPG populating whilst watching a recording.

Yes, maybe, but is that worthwhile when you take the other problems it seems to bring with it?

And why update the software if you are going to ignore the new toys?

Yes, because those problems are related to use of the Freeview Playback features.

Because populating the EPG whilst watching a recording is a SIGNIFICANT improvement in usability -- it is worth updating the software for that change alone.

A matter of opinion. The EPG populates quite soon after switching on if you are on BBC1. I rapidly went back to .15 - I got several oddities which did not happen on .15. I use auto padding in any case as the AR and SL don't work until ALL broadcasters do the job properly ALL of the time.

Yes but then you can't have Series Link which is a much bigger problem.
