Wet weather problem with Onetel
We have been with Onetel for a long time, way before being taken over by Carphone Warehouse. For months now when it rains we lose our landline, but not the broadband connection.Have reported this to Onetel Who pass it on to BT. The BT engineer has said it is a problem underground.Trouble is BT do not respond fast enough to find the source.By the time the engineer comes the rain has stopped & service resumed on its own.All Onetel are prepared to offer in terms of a reduction is a measly £2 for the loss of 4 days service last week.Onetel customer service were supposed to call me last week, according to one of their emails. This said could not make contact by phone.Of course not idiots the phone was out of service!!!.Am now at a loss as to what to do to get this sorted before we get too far into winter.

Problem is it's BT! Not really Onetel's fault although that does not help you!
I am with BT and i have the same problem, well nearly... my line does not go dead but it's noisy very noisy which makes using the phone a no no and same goes for broadband!!! BT will come out but if they do not hear the noise on the line they will bill me £99 for the call out! (Even though they hear the noise when i report the fault) As i cannot predict the future the chances of it raining when the engineer calls are slim at best!!! I put up with it for nearly six months well no more, my line is being disconnected on the 6th!!!! Good bye BT you bunch of cowboys |
