I hope that awful "When You Believe" isn't going to be the winner's single as rumoured. What about doing the Andrea Bocelli & Celine Dion song "The Prayer"? Australian Idol contestant Anthony Callea did it and his version became the best-selling single in Australian chart history. Here's his mindblowing performance.

Wouldn't it be perfect for Rhydian?

I think it's already been decided.

Also...he hasn't won yet!

I agree . I think that'll suit Rhyd's voice very, very well. Possibly will even be better than Callea's version .

I was appalled that last year the winner got Kelly Clarkson's winning song 'A Moment Like This'. They should be given something original!

Seeing as he's studied Classical Music at the Birmingham Conservatoire for the past 5 years or so, I would think he would have no problem singing in Italian.

But, as SteveO mentioned, Rhydian hasn't won x-factor yet, and, although he's the favourite, there is no guarantee that he will.

They should have 2 winner's single- 1 for each finalist. Rhydian with "The Prayer" and Same Difference with "When you believe". (assuming these 2 get to the final).

Yes, they should have one appropriate one for each finalist. They did this in American Idol last year, both finalists sang a different song.

I thought Jordin and Blake sang the same song.

I agree. It can still be 'rigged' a bit in that way though because Taylor got the better song, in most peoples' opinions.

I agree! There are so many songwriters out there, why can't the producers use them and come up with new material instead of using previous winner's songs or covers. Enough with the covers!!

I don't think it will happen, unfortunately - TimmyJew (a friend of Rhyd's who sometimes posts on here) has asked Rhydian to sing it many times but he has refused.

I would love him to do it, I adored Anthony Callea's version at the time (he's one of my favourite Idol contestants) and I think Rhyd could do an amazing version.

I can think of better songs for him to record to be honest..............Josh Groban`s To Where You Are or Broken Vow are great songs. The Prayer is more of a duet.

I really dont think the x factor audience is musically literate enough for this. Rihanna Umbrella is more their thing.
