Is it possible to connect to two devices via Bluetooth?

Heres the dilemma - if i buy a car with bluetooth connectivity built in and connect to answer my phone, make calls, etc, can i also connect my phone to my TomTom at the same time.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks

What phone is it? Most will allow several bluetooth devices to be connected at a time (presuming power saving is disabled, which limits the phone to one connection).

According to the TomTom website you cannot use another bluetooth device as the handsfree kit at the same time as the TomTom is connected.

I looked up this myself when I subscribed to the TomTom Traffic service which uses a GPRS connection to download the info. The limitation is that the TomTom attaches itself to the phone as a handsfree kit as well as a data device. And there is no way you can prevent this it would seem.

So once the TomTom has connected to the phone it blocks anything else from connecting as a handsfree kit. But then again I'm not entirely certain bluetooth is clever enough to allow multiple connections to a single device. But i am prepared to stand corrected on that one.
